Do you want to know how it can be done? The reason is there probley was alot of people that died on that road. Ghosts collect energy overtime which could expain why the car won’t start the next morning. They can take engery from anything they want if they are powerful enough. That is how they possess people. When they are dead for awhle the eventualy store enough energy to possess people. In a sence they are able to control people . It all can get worse from here.

why would anyone roll down their windows and yell for some ghost to come and get them . i think you need to be put in a paded room if you do that . where is this place at? i think that its cool that people belive in ghost but why would you want them to come and see you thats just wired .

Well seeing as how i am a ghost i know that what you say about energy collection is 100% true. Just last week i possessed 54 souls but none could provide sufficient energy so i had to go to a car dealership and suck the energy out of all those cars.

I live in Trenton. I have never ever heard of that before, but I have been on that road a couple of times at night. Actuallualy around halloween. It looks creepy on that road because it’s right beside the Gibson County lake and the moon always reflects off the water. The next time I go back there I will try it, but I doubt it very much.

I swear this is true. My grandparents went there when they were like 20 or something. They were looking for ghosts, and they were with this other girl. They stoppped the car and just sat there for a minute. They heard a noise and the other girl got scared and hit my grandfather really hard on the top of the head. They tried to start the car back up. It didn’t work the first time. It took about ten minutes to start the car back up. To me that would be really freaky, but I wouldn’t hit someone on the head unless I was mad at them. Maybe. I live in Union City, Tennessee, and that’s not too far from here. Maybe me, my boyfriend, and his parents can try it sometime.

when he was cleaning it he was checking the connon
to now for sure it was loaded but it shot off at the same time he was looking in it, That’s a true fact..

that’s why they call it the story of the headless

My family and I passed through that road on our way back to my hometown in Tennessee (Franklin County), and the road looked normal to me. Not at all menacing, but I wouldnt be dumb enough to take my chances of screaming for a bunch of ghosts to come pay me a visit. Thats just stupid. :/

E-Z there killer. You just have a thing for trying to intimidate people on the net don’t you. Wait are you tryin to compensate? You do know what that means right.(to make up for where lacking in “other areas);). From the look of your comments on this site your vocabulary,(that’s the words you’ve learned over the years to put into sentences), is very limited. All I see are a bunch of ***********************. Well for those who “don’t believe in ghosts” then why are you on this web site?

Nat says:

August 28, 2006, 9:42 pm

I drive down Sleepy Hollow a few times a week during the day and night. I’ve never tried that chant thing, but I’m pretty sure if I did, all I’d hear is perhaps a dog barking in the distance. I wouldn’t try it though, I have enough demons as it is. Never ask anything to come to you unless you’re sure you want it! Even if nothing materializes, it doesn’t mean that nothing has bared it’s ugly face. There are stories about Sleepy Hollow, probably just because of the name, and it used to be a lot creepier than it is. The lake has lightened it up a bit, I think. I know of at least one person who died there several years ago; apparently, drunk and froze to death. People say that you can see strange lights there, but I’ve never seen anything unusual. Sometimes you might have to dodge a deer. It may be creepy, but if you live in the country, you’re used to it, especially if it is a familiar route.

Second, now this is for the guy who says he’s 84.You are a PERV!No one wants to read that.Stick to comments ABOUT the story.
Third, this is for the people who think orbs are sighns of ghost. If you watch ghost hunters on the Sci Fi channel you would know that the orbs are mor than likly dust paticals on the cammera. You guys are also idots.

O.K. Cool. Ghost and spirits are real. Its a mystery that they can hurt us. But lets think about God. Would God let harmful evil spirits roam the Earth killing innicont people??? Would he? He didn’t let the Devil. But who knows. Maybe. Maybe not. You have to find out on your own. I see alot of ghost pictures and some are VERY believable. Others are usually smoke or some one playing a stupid trick. My uncle dated a woman who had real ghost pictures. That she took. It shows like a bubble figure of a person. Just a light blu bubble shaped like a person. I write scary stories for websites. I am also a writer for a newspaper. I hope one day to come an author. I really like these stories and then writing facts to show how untrue the story is. If you look you might see some stories I have wrote!! My name is Scary Story Lover!!

I just want to say that I think people should pay attention to what they read. The opening comment states that your car won’t start until the next morning…not that it won’t start the next morning. As if claiming spirits inherit energy from power sources isn’t stupid enough…it’s not even relevant to this particular story. Also, my two words to post this are ‘vigorous Bill’ and I think that’s funny.

abaddon says:

September 1, 2007, 6:37 pm

I live in this town and know exactly were this Sleepy Hollow Lane is. I can attest to the FACT that this is total BS. There are no lights on this gravel road so if you stop your car turn off the engine and lights and say this phrase you may get a little creeped out, but that is all. no ghosts. no problem with car starting (unless it has REAL problems) so unfortunately this is not were you go if you want to find ghosts. so sad. besides ghosts aren’t real.

abaddon says:

September 1, 2007, 6:52 pm

45 bypass north
pass Milan hwy 77
next road christmasville rd.
go down christmasville rd. it comes to a ‘y’
Sleepy Hollow rd. connects this ‘y’ back together further up the road.
but if you take the left of the ‘y’
you will go a few miles if that.
There is a doctor with lots of land and a lake and a black chainlinked fence to the right.
begin looking for a gravel road to your left. Thats it.
good luck.

Oh my goodness! I’ve been to this place so many times! But I wasn’t going to this road on account of the ghosts. I was going to the Gibson Co. lake to make love to a Mako Shark.. but anyhoo.. this story is TRUE! One night me and my lover, Hank WIlliams (a mako shark) had just finished up. He told me the story of Sleepy Hollow lane. I had heard it before because I live in Trenton. He yelled it and it worked! Sacry ghosts came out of everywhere! They were all naked so it was very humorous! One even tried to stick it in but Hank didn’t stand for that! Well I’d really like to see some comments on this! Thanks

Hey this one is true but i dont think it was in trenton, but when I was a child I went there with my mom and frankly it scared the **** out of me. But like i said this one is true

Mary says:

February 4, 2008, 12:47 pm

but the story is a little different it is rumored that long ago a couple was out riding around and had a wreck she was thrown from the car and decapitated he survived and if you go there pull over to the side blow your horn 3 times and flash your light 3 times and then cut off your car she will come out of a pond and approach you if you let her get close enough she will ask if you have seen her boyfriend. but while she is coming near your car will not want to start but it will sooner or later but it wont take all night….. Now If this is not the one in Trenton then it is in Lauderdale County. I just don’t remember where I was cause it was too long ago but i know it is to be true cause I seen it and scared me shitless… but then again I believe in stuff of that nature… But I know it as headless hollow but then again same diff.

Ok this might solve everybodys problems. I used to live less than 2 miles from this place ever sence I was 2 or 3. I have tried everything they said to do but nothing has ever happened. Just to let you know how much I know about it i am now 17 and I moved from there maybe 2 months ago. The only thing that you might have heard that is true is there is a black panther out there some where (there is more now cause the TWRA released about 15 to 20 out around that area sometime last year). Oh yeah and this Seepy Hollow has nothing to do with that dang headless horseman.

Does any1 know where that place is? I think all the stuff about ghosts is sooooo cool and I totally believe. I live in Illinois and there is this place called Moore’s Cemetary. There is one pole thingy with the light on it. It is said that if you go out there when it is really dark(works best during a full moon)and just sit there with your car running, the Blue Lady walks. You know when she’s there because the light goes out and your car shuts off untill she leaves. No telling how long that can be. My moms new bf went there with a couple of his friends when he was a teenager and caught her on tape. I’m totally not kidding. That is REALLY FREAKY!

My uncle’s gf, Margaret, lives in an old soldier hospital full of ghosts. They pinch her, hit her, and move her stuff around. She had some ghost hunters come to her house. One of them was a woman on fire who slept on her spare bed. When my uncle was playing on his drums, and a ghost pinched him on his arm, and he could see his skin lifting up. The ghost woman goes into the basement alot. The ghost hunters went up there and took the doll the ghost plays with and put it on the shelf. A few minutes later, they caught the ghost on tape sliding the doll to the other side of the shelf. The ghosts also used to put my uncles drums out of tune. This srory is totally and completely 100% true. I swear!

Okay, first of all, to clear up the ghost story, thats exactly what it is. “A Story”. It began years ago, before I was even born. It is a simple story for scaring people, or giving kids something to wonder about on halloween . It is an old country road, and it can look scary if you are alone, and start thinking about this. If you stop your car and turn the lights out, sit and wait, the only likely thing that will happen, is another car will hit you because they cannot see you! It is not a high traffic area, but if you sit long enough, a car will eventually pass by. If so many people are trying this, i would drive the road, night after night, and count how many cars you see that are stalled. The area can have alot of urban legends, just like the guy who posted earlier about a black panther, and that the Tenn. Wildlife Recourse Agency, released even more. There are no black panthers in the area, or in North America. A panther, is not a breed, a panther is a Puma, Mountain lion, Jaguar, etc. The only Black Pumas, were reported as being in South America. And they are very rare. If anyone does see a black cat, that looks very large, it is either a large domesticated cat, a dog, a pig, or anything you can imagine, but it is not a Black Panther. What would a black panther eat? All the calves would be eaten within a 2oo mile area. If you want to see a black panther, you will have a much better chance in Belize but youre not going to find one there either, they are very, very rare. The only thing you will see on this road, will not be a ghost, or a black panther, if youre lucky, you may get a glimpse of a coyote, but doubtful that will happen.

Hi everyone. I grew up approx 1 mile from this road, and I have been down this road many many times. Even at night on horseback. Never heard or saw anything out of the ordinary. There was an old spooky looking house that I used to play in and I did feel like someone was there but never saw or heard anything. They buried the house before they built the lake. My Dad used to get very upset when I would ride my horse through there at night and told me some people had been killed there. And also on Lovers Lane in Trenton Tn, there are tales of spooks and this road is now grown up. Well everyone have a great spooky night!

i used to live in the concord community near sleepy hollow, and the only real horror story i know about it is, in the late 70’s it was used as a dump and shoot guns. when the decided to clean it up, people who dumped trash there recived a mysterious letter in the mail from gibson county court informing them of how much they owed for the cleanup…ha, my dad was lucky enough to get one.

I used to have friends in Trenton and we used to go to some country, dirt road–couldn’t tell you the name or location….but something freaky did happen. We were in one of those old big Blazers and all of a sudden *something* impacted us from behind. It was like we’d been rear-ended by another vehicle, so we all turned around to see who’d hit us since no one had seen any headlights approaching. Nothing was there. The driver started the vehicle and put it it drive and stomped on the gas and we didn’t move for what seemed like an eternity–probably only a few seconds. It was as if the wheels weren’t touching the ground or something. Then we took off FAST after those initial few seconds. FREAKED ME OUT and never went back again!

I dont know if this is the same road or not, but i went on a trip somewhere near trenton with a couple of my friends to check out a road with a ghost story about 3 years ago. The story was if you drove down this ridge cut road around 1 am your car would die until the morning. So we went to check it out and waste some time. We drive around for a bit waiting for 1 and we hit the road, lit up not really expecting anything but maybe a spook, and sure enough the car stops. At first of course i thought it was my friend trying to **** with us, but we all got out and checked the engine and tried starting it and it just wouldnt. So about 2am we call some ppl trying to see how we’re gonna get out of there and another car comes opposite direction and pulls over to use to see whats up. The couple decides to let us cram in the back seat and take us off the ridge so we wont get hit by a dui or anything and their car wont start back up. So now we are all stranded in the cold with no heat and no one to come get us. Then of course on cue we start hearing noises, rocks falling, engine sounds, it all sounded distant but loud. We were in our cars by now just trying to stay warm. The couples car was facing ours on the shoulder farthest from the cliff. All of the sudden we hear a scream and a loud thump as we are looking at the other car we see something falling and hit the roof of their car, like the size of a dog, dark in color. We all got out to see what it was, when we looked at the car there was a big as dent right on the roof but no scratches, we looked around to see what could have done it and we couldnt find anything close to the size of what we saw. The like clock work or something else, a few minutes pass and we are both able to get our cars started. Freakiest thing ive ever experienced

And for the so called “christians” that think that there are no ghost and that there is only a heaven and a hell and no in between, and tht if your seeing “ghost” they are demons…where where in the bible does it say tht ghost arnt real???it actually does state tht there is paranormal activity that happens THAT ARE NOT DEMONS!

not far from trenton is a town called guthrie, now in guthrie is a road called port royal and if you go down port rpyal there is a really old farmhouse (it sicks out, its also my great-grandmothers house) now the story goes that one of the previous owners daughters, elizabeth, moved to chicago and got married to a man named john. Later after they got married john joined the cival war, and died. Elizabeth was so shocked she moved back to tennessee in her old house with her parents, (now there are two rooms upstairs one green and one red) and commited suicide out the window of the red room and was buried in the grant family cematary in the houses backyard. ive seen her in the window of the red room from outside. ive also heard she dwells in the basment and graveyard too. when we re-painted the red room and got a new welcome mat she wrote welcome on the wall cousin also swears that if you go into the old barn at night that you see someone hanging but thats a different story ( the house has tons of ghost storys). the basement has steps out side too but not the kind with the door, but there is one at the bottom if you go downsatirs and knock on the door 3 times and call her name she appears to you at night.

It may not be proven, but as a novice paranormal investigator here in Tennessee, I have noticed spirits draw off of any energy source. Cameras, Cars, Lights, Radios, Humans, etc. So it very possible that if there are spirits here, and enough materialzation, they could stall your car indefinately. But that many spirits in one place is very uncommon, and the only plae I have had luck with vocal command is Ft. Donelson in Stewart County.

Also as well, for those of the non-believers or die hard skeptics, please do not trash us. Leave the commenting for those with an open mind. Little Hint: If you are skeptic you will more than likely never see a ghost. Free your mind.

Been there done that, I live in Milan. This so called “haunted road” is a fake, I’ve been out there plenty of times and taken alot of people out there so they can experience it. Nothing ever happens but it is fun to watch people freak out that actually do beleive something will happen. It’s all in the “atmosphere” of being out ghost hunting that you start thinking that you saw something, (i’ve never had trouble with my car starting). Anyway, it’s not much fun anymore, it’s no longer a gravel road and they’ve cut down alot of the surrounding wooded area. If you are just looking for a little fun to scare your date or something, might as well check out the “Doll House” or “Seven Gates of Hell” fields both found here in West Tn.

I was there back in the 70’s. Something very strange happened and I still to this day do not know what it was all about. We were told there was a big oak tree (which we found) and there was a house there at one time. We parked there for a few min. but nothing happened. WE pulled out to go on down the road and looking to our left there was a line of trees. All of a sudden about 50 or more men walked straight out of the woods towards us. They had NO hunting stuff. Had NOTHING in their hands. They all walked in unison. Why were they there? What were they doing?
We saw car lights down the rd and kept going. Got over the hill and NO CAR and no where to turn off. So by then we were getting scared and left.
I would still like to know what these men were doing. It was very weird.

Not only is this story true I’ve done it myself you guys got it a little wrong though. You don’t have to roll all the windows down just one. And you can pretty much yell anything and within minutes you will start seeing shadows and hearing voices. At this point I roll up my window and the spirits or whatever they are will actually beat on the car and windows you can’t see faces or tell how many of them there are but I would guess its around ten or so and you start to feel like your high you go to sleep and wake up and sure enough your car will not start you feel really weak for about a week after but other than that you will be fine there’s actually two more places near trenton that are haunted one is mainly residual ones is lost spirits that wander

I’m telling you it doesn’t work, It never did. It was all just mindgames and superstition. And to add to the disappointment………….You can’t try it out Brook. This “haunted” road that is really called Sleepy Hollow is out by Gibson County Lake. When the lake was put in they paved the road, cut all the trees down, etc. It’s not the same road that it was while I was in high school going out there scarying dates and such. The sad truth is………no one can go out there and have fun like we used to cause now it’s just not anything to go do. Plus the stupid game warden travels around those roads more ofter now, ha ha ha.

Yes, this website may have alot of stuped people on it that beleive in ghosts, but did it ever occur to you that maybe they just don’t give a damn about how spellin is on here? I’m looking to get a few fellow ghosts hunters together in town. There are a few places I know of that needs to be checked out. For example, the abandoned house down the road from me has been abandoned since I was a kid. I have driven past this house several times and seen an old lady in the upstairs window.

I grew up about a mile from the “haunted” site. I have spent countless hours hunting, riding horses, atvs and playing up and down this entire road. I can tell you the reality of the story. In the 1970’s and 80’s if you parked in a certain spot (now taken by the Gibson County Lake) you could see “ghostly” appearances. It was actually some type of mineral vapor escaping from the ground. This ceased some time in the 1980’s and the area where it happened is now where the lake is. Sorry to disappoint.
