Small White House
This house is haunted by a very unhappy alcoholic. Strange noises coming from the wall and large pieces of furniture move across the room. On one occasion an elderly woman was attacked by the air as she was walking to the bathroom; she gained several bruises but sustained no major injuries.

That sounds like a demonic presents. It has not been put on record of a human spirt attacking with such violent force. But just because its not been recorded dose not mean its not possibile

I was not aware of either of these haunted houses, but I do know of one of my own. There is a house on state line road in Fort Smith that actually glows in the dark. I myself have never been there, but I did drop my brother off one night.
It’s a huge two-story plantation style house. I’ve heard stories, all of them pretty much the same. A family of four lived there long ago. Father, Mother, son and daughter. The father supposedly came home one night and murdered his whole family, then himself.
My brother told me of the things he saw while there. Scary stuff. He and his friends saw a woman in a rocker in one of the upstairs windows. While walking closer to the house, the boys saw a man propped up against the porch. As they got closer, a light came on and the man was no longer there.
Oh yeah, i forgot to mention, the house is condemned and has been for many years.
A friend of mine went one night with a few people, and they did go inside. She claimed to hear children’s screams coming from the upstairs bedrooms. They didn’t stay long.
My brother returned to the house on another night. He got stuck in the shed. He said they were going through things and got locked in. They got out and never went back.
It’s really cool to see. It glows green.
So if you live near Fort Smith, check it out.

we are planning on doing a weekend ghost hunt and are wondering if anyone knows of any real haunted places close to paragould,ar. or missouri bootheel and not the light we have already been. we are willing to travel an hour or so if it is good enough maybe further! thanx

I do believe in ghost I have been in haunted houses before and have seen presents of ghost and also heard sounds that is scary..But if you want to check a real scary place ….Try my dinner table when I run out of food…my hubby can be worse than any ghost…Boo

Ft Smith is about 5 hours from Paragould. Would be worth the drive. I’m surprised the haunted Arlington Hotel in Hot Springs isn’t on this list for Arkansas. That’s a good one! The staff have some good stories if you ask. Also ask about the floor that isn’t on the elevator list. They had to close off a floor because of the suicide jumpers and strange occurrences, so I was told by an employee. She said she has heard and seen several things but that she wasn’t afraid, just gets spooked at times. I couldn’t work there. Also looking for anything close to Paragould. I’ve been to the “Green House” off Hwy 412 east from Paragould. You turn south on a county road. Can’t think of that road number but there aren’t any other co. roads close. There’s a sign for a church there and the road starts out paved. But from there, there are several turns and it’s way back up in there. The road to the house crosses a rickety, one lane wooden bridge and pretty much turns into a path that stops at the house. One way in and out. Will NEVER go back! It’s been several years ago, may not even still be there. Anything else close?

There is a house in Thayer Mo. (right across the ar.state line)that is really old and has a very interesting history.It was the coroners office,maybe his home too,I don’t know.Then it turned into a funeral parlor.After a while it went out of business or moved,not sure about that.Anyway,later on it started being rented out as a regular home would be,I have a family member who stayed there a few years ago.He said doors would open and close on there own and that you could hear people walking around.This house is about a hundred years old or so.I’m going to try to find out more about it.

I gues i would have to go to city hall.I just moved to a place a few miles away from the house.I haven’t had a chance to ask about it from any locals,or find out where to look it up.I’ve seen the outside of the place.It’s creepy enough without even going inside.It’s two stories,theres a door on the top with out stairs coming down.Someone from out of town is having it remodeled,I should get pictures of it.

This past April my sister and i stayed at the Cresent Hotel. It is ranked like 2nd most haunted hotel in America. They have a ghost tour every night. We did not have any encounters, but we did capture some images on digital camera. Also, the TAPS group went and did an investagtion and said that it was haunted. It was great can’t wait to go back…… Also should check around Kennett. Been awhile since went ghost hunting around in these areas, but triing to start a group out of Memphis..Happy Hunting

I’ve been sick and haven’t been able to go see about any of it.I tried to find it on the internet but can’t get anywhere.Maybe the streets were named different or something? It’s on seventh and archer in Mammoth springs,Ar.Maybe someone else would have a better way to find out about it…

I used to live in Scranton,arkansas alot of weird things happened there like lights in the sky and i swear my grandfather who killed himself haunted our home or someone did it was a little old white house on top of the hill. that story was creepy but i have one too.When my mother was little she lived with her parents. they all three were all sleeping in the in the same bed and they started to hear old women singing then they felt something crawl across their feet,they looked up and saw nothing!they heard the old ladies sing every night.Kinda creepy!

I live in Fort Smith. The ’supossedly’ haunted house that is on Stateline Road is on the corner of Stateline Road and Zero Avenue- right over the railroad tracks by Baldor. It doesn’t glow anymore. It’s in a pasture on top of a small hill.

I used to live in a haunted house. The house is in Fort Smiith, AR. but now I live in Pocalo, OK. It’s just right out side fort smith.I beleave the house to be haunted by 3 or more ghost. But I know it’s Haunted because I heared nioses, seen images, and felt precences in the house.Plus, it’s a historicly home.

I believe in ghosts. I lived in Mayflower Arkansas since 1992 and just moved out within this past year. The very first house that me, my brother, my daddy, and mom lived in……the landlord told us about the house being hunted. A man died in the bathroom of a heart attack. Apparently there was more then one spirit in the house. My mom went through 2 crockpots. One of them was sitting on the counter nowhere near the edege and we heard a loud noise in the kitchen and we all ran in there and the crockpot was in pieces on the floor. Me and my brother bought her another crockpot a few weeks after that one broke and we sat on top of out fridge in the middle and it was no where near the edges of the fridge. I was in the kithen cutting up potatoes to feed my pet rabbits and noone else was in the kitchen but me but I was nowhere near the fridge either. All of a sudden the crockpot fell off the fridge and ended behind the frdge busted into pieces. The door to my and my mom’s room would open and shut by itself all the time. It was a two bedroom house. So my daddy and my brother shared one room and my mom and I shared the other. It was a scary experience. We moved out of that house in 1997 and moved to another house in Mayflower. That house is still there and standing. Everytime I go pass that house to go to my Aunt’s house I always look at it and get chill’s.

I was walking home one day and then when I got in the house I put all of my stuff up in my and then I walked back in to the living room and at the corner of my eye I saw something then I went in to the dining room and I saw a huge green ugly man. It had his back to me but then he turn around I thought I was going to puke from how ugly he was but then something really crazy happen and thing talked. What he said I will never forget. What he said was “Mom why is my brother looking at me like I am a ******”. Then I said sorry to him. The end

Hi, um in Hot Springs, Arkansas, Highway 270 West, My grandparents live on that road, and about a mile from their house, there is this old house that is white, its a two story, theres weeds and stuff grown up around it, but it is very haunted. People have been there, it was told that a man and his wife lived there, he murdered his wife and threw her in the fire place. A biker stopped at my grandparents house telling them about what happened, the biker was riding and needed a place to sleep, so he decided to sleep in this place, and he had some strange things happen. He said things would fly around the room and so on. I really think someone should investigate this house, I dont know exactly the house number, but it is on Highway 270 West. And you will see a tall house with things all over it.
p.s: It is hard to see, but it is on the left side.

The house on state line road in Fort Smith glowed because of the reflective paint it was painted with. The lights from all the surrounding factory’s would reflect off of it. I have not been there in ages, but i think someone gated it off and repainted it. For some scary places that will really keep you creeped out, check out Jenny Lind. It is a very small community between Fort Smith and Greenwood off HWY 71.

well, Shelly I’m just like you I live in Diamond Arkansas. I am really in to ghost hunts I’ve went to a couple of places around there this one place I forgot where it was located it’s off the side of this really long highway, it’s called Mayberry Mannor. Rumor has it that the guy killed his wife and burned her alive in the fire place and then commited suicide and hung his self. If you go there late at night your sopose to be able to hear the bloody cries up her screaming as she did on the night she was burnt. When two of my friends and I went we didn’t hear any sceams, but we did see some freaky shadow figures and the sound of people walking in the other rooms and we got some pretty erie chills. We didn’t stay long because my friend claimed to see the shadow of a hanging from a rope and freaked out on us and we had to leave. I would so go back next time I get the chance.W/b Ashley “Ash”

I know about the Allington hotel and the insane asylum they tore down and today me and my husband are going to check out that white house off of 270 west. Stayed at the Crescent in Eureka Springs.. not 5 minutes after we checked in to one of the supposed “haunted” rooms, the lights went out. Went on the ghost tour that they do of the hotel and didn’t really care for it. I saw the Ghost Hunters episode on Sci Fi when they went to the Crescent. Great show. Too bad our stay wasn’t that great. People kept knocking on our doors asking if we’d seen the ghost yet. Don’t think I’ll book a haunted room next visit…
