Some railroad tracks on the south side of town (the sticks)
While on the way home, a bus full of first and second graders broke down while driving across these railroad tracks. Rather than going to look for help, the driver told the children to get off the bus and push it across the tracks; they were struck down by a train. Now it is said that if one drives to the site and puts the car in neutral, it will be pushed over the tracks. Allegedly if one spreads baby powder on the back of the car before going to the site, he will see fingerprints when he leaves.

I’m from New Zealand and this story has come up on TV here in the past as some kind of Urban Legend. I think at one of the sites, possibly neither of the two mentioned already but other site where the legend also exists, they believed that the gradient of the tracks and ground led the car to move. I can’t recall what they believed scientifically created the handprints.
An interesting story though and as long as nobody is getting hurt by it, why not try it out. I do believe that ghosts and such things occur as my family and friends have had paranormal experiences, but be careful there are scams out there, don’t just buy into everything.

If it’s true, it would have been on the news, if not the news, then in the news papers, if not the newspapers, then in a court record, police report, and or death certificates…..find the records and the evidence, and I will believe this urban legend.

Hello
My family and I alway vited San Anotnio very chance that we get. I live in Laredo, Texas. When I was in high school. I was in HOSA, so we had
a trip to houston. So the other high that ride with us wait to go thur San Anotoio to check out the rail track. When we got there the discovery channel was there and a physic. The physic told us that she had talk to the people living around that area. That one man had lost his dog and when he found him on the track, that his dog had a human bone. I’m not sure when this happen but when we went there it was almost 10 years ago. Also that there is no document about that train crash. The physic said that the tree that’s when you are turing to the street to cross the railroad. She would see that the tree was used to hang people before.

I just wonder at the fact that at least 5 people who have commented have asked where the site is but no one, not one, has ever posted the location of the event. what does this mean?
a. no one here has actually been to the site and just wants to fit in
b. this event never happened and people just want to be a part of the story.
if some one wants to prove that they have at least been there i would like to see that person post the location and directions so all those who want to go can. what’s there to be afraid of? are you scared that people will find out it’s just a hoax?

it is all false. the baby powder is your own fingerprints and the road off of the tracks actually goes down hill not up. it is an illusion. no children were ever killed there. my uncle investigated the story. go ahead right now and put baby powder on your car. if you have touched your car in that spot within the past 2 days it will work.

Koehler said that his/her mom was a teacher at the school when the accident happened. Does that mean he/she can give an accurate telling of the story? Does his/her mom know the people who were in the accident? Have you or your mom tried to go over the tracks while the care is in neutral?
Sorry for so many questions, but I live in Chicago and I am going to be visiting Texas soon and I want to know if I should “visit” the tracks.

I have never been to the site of the railroad tracks but, I have heard many people speak of it. As of the location; all I know is that is on the North Side of San Antonio coming in from Interstate Highway 35 (within 3 miles of the Spaghetti Warehouse.
Lena – if you are going to visit Texas and will be in San Antonio, you should visit the Menger Hotel and Hotel Saint Anthony. There have been many sightings at these two hotels- I have also experienced some unexplained paranormal activity.
If you can get the Mineral Wells – try to visit The Baker Hotel. It is a beautiful 11 story hotel; built in the early 1900’s by TB Baker (who also, built the Baker in Dallas and Saint Anthony) It burned down in 1929 and was rebuilt only to be shut down again after the Market Crashed. Not only is it a historical landmark, it is also known for many paranormal sightings and activity.
I had the pleasure to experience a guided tour through the haunted halls, rooms and stairways this past February, 2005. I was able catch a glimpse of an “orb” while I was briefly seperated from the tour group. One of the guides later told me that this room was known for these sightings. I didn’t say that I seen something until after they started talking about it.
If you would like to read more about the Baker Hotel go to http://www.spiritofthebaker.com (please note I have no affiliation to this website).
Whether you do or don’t believe in ghosts, the paranormal, urban legends- The fact that you are visiting this website should account for something.

I have heard this story many times. I live in Austin and was told this story by my teacher who used to visit the San Antonio area frequently. I do believe this will happen to me (if I get the chance to do it) but are their pictures or a video of the car moving across the road or what? I would really like to see some proof so these n00bs who post pointless comments on here will stop typing nonsense. I hope to try it eventually if not sometime this weekend.

I actually went there once, that was 2 months ago. Me & my girlfriend went there for a short, 1 week break-away from the hectic Singapore lifestyle. I get to know of this place through the web site before, so we agreed on visiting this place out of adventure & curiosity.
We decided to try the powder & neutral gear stuff. The powder test, to our disappointment was actually caused by sweat residue left behind by our hands that dissolves the powder at the back of our rented car. We sprinkled generous amounts of powder at the back of the car just before I drive onto the tracks but still the powder managed to dissolve in a matter of seconds, leaving hand-prints of different shapes & sizes left behind by previous drivers. The unexplainable thing that happened though, was the ‘pushing’ of the car. We felt the car move forward a few metres the moment I release the brakes. We brought with us a carpenter ruler & thus we went back onto the tracks & tested the gradient of the slope, to our suprise, the gradient was considered minimal to create a ‘rolling down the hill’ possibility. What’s more, the tracks act as mini humps on the road surface so if it really was because of a gradient slope, at least the movement should be stopped by the track humps as the moving speed was slower than normal walking speed.
Its definitely worth a try to visit the tracks but the powder test is really unnecessary.
Regards to all!
Aaron

I really believe that its true! I used to go when i was younger and they would push us and we WOULD see handprints, but one time when i went my cousin told me too look thru the back window the wole time and thats when i saw the pale white face i actually went in shock cause i was so scared! but that was along time ago! I recently went again and we were so exited to go cause we hadnt went in along time thats when they pushed us once we went again then again a third time thats when they acually left us RIGHT on the tracks like wanting us to DIE! when we went to the store in the light to look we saw no prints in the back but we found a whole lot in the front of our truck like if they were acually trying to stop us on the tracks and not push us over it was really SCARY!! after that experience i dont think i will EVER go again!! so please people i think these spirits are tierd and all they want is to be laid to rest so STOP going and just LEAVE THEM ALONE!!!! please!
