Real Haunted House

Some railroad tracks on the south side of town (the sticks)

San Antonio, Texas

While on the way home, a bus full of first and second graders broke down while driving across these railroad tracks. Rather than going to look for help, the driver told the children to get off the bus and push it across the tracks; they were struck down by a train. Now it is said that if one drives to the site and puts the car in neutral, it will be pushed over the tracks. Allegedly if one spreads baby powder on the back of the car before going to the site, he will see fingerprints when he leaves.

I have been there myself and it was wierd. I did not believe it at first either so had to see for myself. You could hear the kids screaming and talking to get your car across the tracks. Also if you sit indian style on the tracks facing the east close your eyes and put hands on the tracks you can see it all happen. Now that was the wierd part. If it did not really happen whats up with that?

I have also lived in San Antonio all my life, and heard the urban legend about these so-called “ghost tracks” many times. When I was younger (about 18 or 19) myself and some friends of mine went out there to see what all the hubbub was about. Having seen actual photos of “handprints in the baby powder” on the backs of people’s cars (they had a story about it all in The San Antonio Light), we went out there in “full investigative mode”, complete with a freshly washed car and baby powder. One of my friends that went along is a surveyor, and he brought some of his equipment as well.
The first thing we did when we got there was to have my surveyor friend set up his tripod and check out the area at the tracks crossing. He confirmed that there is definitely a slope that goes in the direction that cars are supposedly “pushed”. We also tried the whole bit with the baby powder. The car did “move” across the tracks, as it was a heavy car and when you have a slight slope and a heavy car, this mysterious force known as “gravity” will make it roll downhill. We did this several times. Afterwards when we checked the baby powder, we did not see any tiny handprints, pawprints, scuffmarks, *anything* to indicate that we were mysteriously “pushed” across the tracks. We concluded that while the story about the bus crash *might* be true, the bit about the ghost children is nothing more than a bunch of hype and lots of overactive imaginations or downright hoaxers. If you want to visit some “real” haunted areas in San Antonio, try The Alamodome, or even University Hospital in the Medical Center, where a ghost named “Murphy” likes to wreak havoc a few times a year.

For those of you who wish to check out the “ghost tracks” yourself, they are on the southeast side of San Antonio, just outside of loop 410. The easiest way to get there is to take Mission Parkway (off of SE Military dr) all the way out till it ends at Villamain Rd. Take a right on Villamain and follow it all the way to it’s end. Note the railroad tracks to the left of Villamain rd as you follow it. Those are the legendary tracks. The “haunted railroad crossing” is at the intersection of Villamain and Shane roads. It is easily viewable in google earth. Just to the east of that area is the little development where all the streets are named after kids. The names of the streets are as follows: “Laura Lee Way”, “Nancy Carole Way”, “Cindy Sue Way”, “Richie Otis Way”, and “Bobbie Allen Way”. It’s coordinates are 29º19’02.00″N, 98º26’36.02″W.

I just went there a few minutes ago and it really does work. Your car will be pushed up the hill when stopped and put in neutral.

I went to the railroad tracks twice this month and they told me to turn my car off on the x befor the rail road tracks and it pushed us over at first it was freaky but then i realized it on a incline on a hill it looks straight but its just an illusion to the eyes because there is a hill at the end of the rail road tracks . As for the finger prints i found on my trunk from the baby powder i believe that no matter how much you clean your car you will always have the oils on there from your prints. It a Lie …. San antonios night life is sleazy and ghetto dont go!!!

The story isnt true at all, not even the bus being hit by a train. Some say that the streets around the area are named after the children that died but in fact are the names of the the children of the developers of the area.

I have been and went with an open mind about the whole situation. We tried the baby powder on 3 different cars and did get finger prints but there were also smudges around them from the oil I had on my hands earlier that day. It could be little kids but I would say they were my finger prints. We also noticed that the road is slanted just enough that it will make your car roll while in neutral. We also used a basketball, can, a small wagon, and a few other items that also rolled down. No little kids would care to push an empty wagon or anything out of the way. The best way to test this, just as we did, is pull your car right up to the tracks, not up the street a little ways like most do. You will see that the car doesn’t roll while in neutral because there is a rise before the tracks that it will not get over. You can say that the kids aren’t strong enough to push from there, that’s ridiculous. A ghost would not have a limit on strength so I believe this to be false.
The asylum just down the road, though, scared the living **** out of me!

I grew up in S.A. and heard that story too. I’m 33 now and still believe it. When I went I was 17. Me and four of my friends piled in my car and we stopped completely on the tracks. Put it in neutral. It VERY slowly moved forward and stopped when we cleared the tracks. We were all freaked but excited at the same time. Me and another got out and sat on the hood to see if it would keep moving, nothing happened though. We didn’t put the baby powder on it either. I heard the reason it moves is some polarity deal. Don’t know how that works. It really is a spooky area though. There is a huge baseball field next to it that IS in use. Furthermore if you drive down the road when you are done, the trees lined up perfectly next to the railroad track all totally bend AWAY. It’s spooky as hell. It’s caused by years of fast winds from the trains though. It causes the trees to bend away and eventually stay that way. One last thing. Back in the early 90′s when we did this, it was like an attraction. There were 15-20 cars behind us waiting for their turn to get ‘pushed’ over.

In conclusion, it’s either ghosts pushing us over, or that wierd polarity deal I mentioned before.

Spooky nontheless but it’s fun so give it a go.

For everyone out there I also believe this to be true My Husband is from Texas and He has told me this story, and they also have made a movie about this it is called “Fingerprints.” I think everyone should see this movie.
ALSO!
HI! I LIVE IN THE RIO GRANDE VALLEY AND HAVE HEARD ABOUT THIS FREAKY STORY IN SAN ANTONIO. BUT IF YOU WANNA HEAR SOMETHING VERY REAL AND SPOOKY HEAR THIS ONE OUT. ABOUT 18 OR 19 YRS AGO A BAD SCHOOL BUS/COCA COLA TRUCK ACCIDENT HAPPENED IN ALTON TX. THIS IS LOCATED IN THE LOWER RIO GRANDE VALLEY. THE SCHOOL BUS WAS STRUCKED BY THE COKE TRUCK AND WAS PUSHED INTO A CALICHE DITCH THAT HAD ENOUGH WATER TO CAUSE SOME OF THOSE STUDENTS TO DROWN. I PASSED BY THE ACCIDENT SIGHT THE NEXT DAY IT HAPPENED AND IT FELT VERY VERY FREAKY. BUT NOW SO MANY YEARS LATER THEY SAY THAT IF YOU GO BY THERE AT NIGHT YOU CAN HEAR ALL THESE CHILDREN CRYING FOR HELP. COME BY AND VISIT THE SIGHT I NEVER WENT BACK EVENTHOUGH I LIVE ABOUT 20 MINUTES FROM THERE. I DONT GO BACK CAUSE I DO BELIEVE THE PEOPLE THAT HAS HEARD THEM AND IM TOO SCARE TO GO. REMEMBER THIS PALCE IS LOCATED AT ALTON TX, NEAR MCALLEN TX I DONT KNOW THE NAME OF THE STREET BUT IF YOU COME AROUND HERE JUST ASK ANYBODY ABOUT IT AND THEY WILL DIRECT YOU TO THE SIGHT. AND IF YOU WANNA RESEARCH IT, IT HAPPENED ABOUT 18 OR 19 YRS AGO.

If you are coming from the mission are go to the 5 mile line and keep on following it and you will come upon this area it has a fence around it and also there are a lot of flowers on the fence too.

I was on the tracks outside my car and a ghost child stood there and smiled at me. I kept running and the child ran after me and its lips were stitched to where it looks like a smile. I keep thinking about that day and it makes me cry.
