Real Haunted Houses

Real Haunted House

Some railroad tracks on the south side of town (the sticks)

San Antonio, Texas

While on the way home, a bus full of first and second graders broke down while driving across these railroad tracks. Rather than going to look for help, the driver told the children to get off the bus and push it across the tracks; they were struck down by a train. Now it is said that if one drives to the site and puts the car in neutral, it will be pushed over the tracks. Allegedly if one spreads baby powder on the back of the car before going to the site, he will see fingerprints when he leaves.

Losers! Ha ha – J/K
For real though, i have researched the ‘history’ of this story which by the way never happened, went to the tracks and yes it does APPEAR that the car rolls up hill but if you bring a level and lay it across the tracked area you will see that it is actually a decline, not an incline. So yes the car rolls slightly. And duh! People do use powder for prints… You can see them on your car in your own driveway when applied. I do believe in ghosts and hauntings and have traveled far to see many but this one truly isnt anything more than fun for those who WANT to believe and have very vivid imaginations. :) Sorry to disappoint.

It is true that your car will rollover the tracks, but surveyers have proved time and time again that it is really going downhill, it is an optical illusion the road is on a 17 degree downhill slope, the powder you put on your car shows your own prints from your body oils, wash it first then try the powder there will be no prints, the tracks have been on many fact or fiction shows about haunted places and they all say the same thing just not true in fact there has never been a train accident at that spot involving a school bus full of kids ever save your tourist dollars and go to six flags or sea world sorry for the news sincerely Nick Groff

In 1997 I accompanied an experienced nurse (I was in training)who did home health in this area. She took me to the sight and put her vehicle in neutral – and we coasted over the tracks. She also put powder on the trunk of her car prior to our coasting…and we saw numerous…small handprints. I am still at a loss for words about this experience.

This has been debunked and proven to be an optical illusion. It looks as if you are going up hill but you are actually going down hill which caused the care to roll over the tracks. People who put baby powder on the car and see hand prints are actually their own because they failed to wipe down the car before hand. Also the bus of school children accident never even occurred here it was actually in another state.

I saw this debunked on television. They did a survey of the road and you are not going uphill. You are actually going DOWNHILL. It’s an optical illusion. The babypowder only shows your own prints and there has NEVER been a reported accident at that location involving a bus full of kids.

I had heard about this place when living in San Antonio. Never tried it but had been to the site. Confirmed this when a fact or fake show episode was done on this “myth”…worked for them…..just no handprints. Not a believer in such things…but was proven and filmed.

I did hear the story before, but I don’t think this is true. My aunt visited there. She did feel some supernatural presence over those tracks, but the baby powder thing is just rubbish.

Sorry guys, but there is a magnet that pulls your car/truck towards the tracks and the prings are your own. The powder brings up all the old fingers from you or whoever touched your car. I used to believe this story too.

It didnt happen in San Antonio, it happend somwhere like Dallas or fort worth. I saw it on a show once, they have the news paper clippings people thought it happend here because the San antonio news paper wrote about the accident but they wrote about it happening somewhere else like Dallas or something. Everyone thought it happened here cause of that, and the finger prints come frome ur own hands, when u touch something ur oils stay there for about a year or so. And the reason the car moves is because the road is slanted or something so tha car moves.

I’ve heard the story and i’ve been to that site, but it’s just the weird phyisics of the way that street lays that makes a car roll over it. Try it in the daytime, when it’s less scary it wont seem as magical. Besides this story is an urban legend. No bus ever got hit by a train there. There was a bus that got hit on a train track in Utah in the 1930s and aparantly there was a lot of news coverage, so i guess other places sort of adopted the scary story. as for the fingerprints. I seriously doubt the people that said they were there, but also keep in mind that dusting for prints, the baby powder is going to stick to where anyone has previously touched it, so all the fingerprints that are ALREADy on it are going to show up. and besides why would ghosts have oils in their hands and therefore fingerprints?

ive been to the tacks sooo many times if u see a small light white car DO NOT STARE AT IT FOR TO LONG i went the other time and then i tought “ohhh its just another person going to the tracks’ then the back lights turned off “ohhh okay maybe it just turned…right?” we keep going theres nothing but fence and on the other side is the tracks, one road, and only one turn farr ahead and (we were bumber to bumber no joke) at first i thought that was only one time the next time i went it happend again if u see it GET THE PLATE NUMBER!!!

“I have been there, did the baby powder thing and all that jazz” is not grammatically correct.

Okay. My sister and I tried it, and it happened. What force could possibly be creating this to happen. It freaked us out. I’ve never experienced anything like that. Whatever the story is or is not, that force does exist. If anyone is interested in researching this phenomenon….post it.

no matter what you think this story is not true that never happened and its not haunted. the area where your car “gets pushed by kids” is actually on a downhill grade even though it looks like you are going uphill, its an illusion from the surounding landscape. dont believe everything you hear people need to question and learn things on their own a not believe everything they hear but question experiment and find things on your own. And by the way what I have said about that area has been proven.

science says:

April 30, 2011, 9:17 pm

This was scientifically and historically proven to be a fraud. The geographical area is on a down-hill gradiant yet because of the tree lines and road appears to be going up hill. The cars naturally move via gravity not ghosts and the bus wreck that killed the children actually took place in Utah in the 1930′s but was well written in the papers in the San Antonio area. Check out Fact or Faked, they did a special on it in 2010.
