Some railroad tracks on the south side of town (the sticks)
While on the way home, a bus full of first and second graders broke down while driving across these railroad tracks. Rather than going to look for help, the driver told the children to get off the bus and push it across the tracks; they were struck down by a train. Now it is said that if one drives to the site and puts the car in neutral, it will be pushed over the tracks. Allegedly if one spreads baby powder on the back of the car before going to the site, he will see fingerprints when he leaves.

My family has lived in San Antonio TX for 3 generations. I have been to the tracks many times through out my life and I can assure you it’s just a story. Yes your car does roll over the tracks but the road in at a 2 degree decline although it appears to be going up hill. The hand prints come from the oils on your hands. Even if you wash your car, there are still oil residues left behind. If you really want to see if “ghost children ” push you off the tracks park your car facing the opposite way, torwards the neighborhood. If there really is something pushing you off the tracks, it should push your car off no matter what way you’re parked. All on all its a fun thing to do on a Friday night can be scary for those who let themselves believe. But the legend it self isn’t true.

I live really close to the railroad tracks and tried it before.didnt work There is no record of that ever happening but I did watch this show along time ago where these paranormal invetigators did research at that site, they took measurement and reached to the conclusion that it the road goes downhill but doesn’t appear that way to us,so your car isnt really being pushed by little angels, but the handprints people claim to see are unexplainable…Im pretty sure there are some souls walking around since its really close to a graveyard and the missions.Definitely something you should check out and experience …oh and there are cops that go by trying to clear out the place specially during the halloween season:)

Well i belive this story is true, I am 15 years old and my teacher in 4th grade told me that story i belive he is from san antonio. he also told me that some reporters had went their to investigate. I cant remember exactly what he said because he told me about 5 years agoo. Pretty long time ago. He also said something about the childrens hands would come up in the rail road tracks. Well thats all I can remember, i know people that stay in San antonio I will be asking them if they have heard something, so expect another comment after this one

This is not true it was proven by myth busters. There was never a crash like that here in San Antonio. Also the way the hills are it makes you think the land is straight but it actually goes downhill then up. I personally have gone and put baby powder and it doesn’t show fingerprints. The car does roll but no fingerprints

Go to snopes.com and search for this story. (Snopes is like a mythbusters for the internet) This actually happened in a northern city, not San Antonio.

I have visited this site, and like many others who have, experienced the car moving over the tracks while in neutral.
There has to be another explanation for it. I’m all for the paranormal and am not particularly skeptic, but just the other night I saw a movie with the same storyline. The same ghost story has been in other locations across the U.S probably. So the fact that there is no record of the incident on file anywhere within San Antonio tells you something, since the story itself is generic.
Story aside…the experience is fun nonetheless. Makes you wonder what really happened.

We went out there tonight, also there were some other younger people there doing the same thing. I think all the comment’s about actually seeing a trian and all that is bull. Also the other younger people that were out there put baby powder on their back window, and there was NOTHING. so this “HAUNTING” is BULL!

Mythbusters did a story on this and the reason that cars “go uphill” is that it is an optical illusion – they are actually going downhill.

i do believe it is real. i just went last night and in the morning we cleaned the truck before we went and you were able to see the hand prints of some children i also took some pics and some faces well what looks to be faces came out. it did pick up to about 6-8mph while on neutral and the engine off.
