Some railroad tracks on the south side of town (the sticks)
While on the way home, a bus full of first and second graders broke down while driving across these railroad tracks. Rather than going to look for help, the driver told the children to get off the bus and push it across the tracks; they were struck down by a train. Now it is said that if one drives to the site and puts the car in neutral, it will be pushed over the tracks. Allegedly if one spreads baby powder on the back of the car before going to the site, he will see fingerprints when he leaves.

I was born and raised in San Antonio and frequented the “tracks” in my teenage years, and I can assure you something unexplicable happens there. It is a fact that if you turn your engine off, and put your car in neutral, it will start rolling about 20-30ft, UP a hill about 6-8 feet high at about a 30 to 40 degree incline tops off and then it feels as if gravity takes over from there. I could never figure out how we gained enough momentum to even reach the hill top. The feeling is extremely unnerving. When you are being “pushed” it is at a very slow pace, for those of you that have ever had a stalled car and someone push you, it’s the EXACT same feeling….except there is no one there.

I’m not sure how anyone could believe this. I *might* be able to understand a bus driver abandoning a bus full of kids, but that’s not likely. Generally, school bus drivers are responsible people who care alot about the kids they transport. But the version that says the driver made the kids push the bus is absolutely ridiculous. First and Second graders probably wouldn’t even be able to reach the bumper of the bus. Does anyone remember Bus Evacuation days, and how we had to have people help us make that big jump? Secondly, little kids aren’t stupid. If a train was coming, they would have run away, regardless of what the driver told them. They would be scared. The only way I can see one getting hit is if they were frozen there with fear. But that isn’t very likely either. And highschool kids? Come on, you can’t get a highschooler to clean their room, let alone loyally try to push a bus while a freaking train is coming.
I think Robert hit the nail right on the head. But I did love Thunderhead’s story.

i have heard many stories of the assumed bus/train accident. but like previous people have stated ” how could children push a bus ” and besides why would a bus driver tell them to. there may never be any proof or truth of such an event ever taking place. i can say as of the doubt of the slope of the crossing, take a string and a stringline level or a laser level and check the grade of the crossing and you will find out exactly whether the slope is down hill or up hill. if it is proven to be a downhill slope then it doesn’t take much to make a car move. for the powder. as others have stated, if there is any trace of body oil it will leave a print when you put powder on the car.

Bonnie on 10/18/05 said she’d seen the Discovery Channel at the site with a psychic, and I can vouch for that…I saw the show on TV. They also had a surveyor there that confirmed that the road actually does go uphill. The cameras documented everything, from the surveyor taking readings and measurements, the baby powder being put on the back bumper, the car going UPHILL over the tracks, and the many many hand prints on the bumper after the car stopped. The car wasn’t even running at the time of the experiment, it was turned off and in neutral.
They also interviewed a woman who’s daughter died in the accident; she not only confirmed that the accident happened but also that many of the streets in the area were named for children who had died. I believe the timeframe we’re looking at here was the late ’60’s or early ’70’s.

I had a friend that went to the University of Sanantonio, one night her and a couple of friends went out to those railroad tracks, covered the car in baby powder, and stuck the car in nutral. She said a couple of seconds later the car just started rolling on its own. Later they got out to find little hand prints all over the back end. They have pictures to prove it. She was freaked out. To top it off as they were leaving they went through a near by neighborhood as a short-cut only to find that every street was named after one of the kids that died on that school bus. CRAZY HUH!

yeah I have been there before. and it is pretty cool. well I dont know exactly what it is that pushes you over the tracks but see I believed the same thing of oh well its on a hill blah blah…but the thing is you dont know what Im talking about unless you have been there. we cleaned the back of the car and put baby powder right before we put it in neutral, then we did the whole waiting and it did it. and we did see small little hand prints. ALOT of small hand prints. thats what freaked me out. the thing is when you are going over the tracks it kind of steeps up before you reach the tracks. so we would stop the car right at the steep so we would have rolled backwards away from the tracks if this whole hill theory were correct. but something pushed us over because it did NOT roll backwards. it continued to roll the car forward and over the tracks. as I remember it, this location is over off the 410 loop on the southeastern side of San Antonio. its right there. but anyways yeah weird stuff. Im looking for some creep stuff in Dallas but haven’t found too much on anything. anyways doesnt really matter who believes what because you will always have those who do not believe until it happens to you. and it has happened to me. amongst other paranormal things I have seen at other haunted places. but anyways laters!

I Believe that it is true my ex. boyfriend, cousin, and I went to the tracks because my cousin didn’t believe it happened so we went there to prove it to her. He turned the car completely off and the car started to move all by itself without being on. That really scared me and her both so yes I believe it is true.

Last year in English class we read this book called Rescue which told exactly the same story Robert told except it said the bus driver was a sub who was young, inexpierienced, and did not do the whole railroad crossing thing properly. Since it was HS kids who were on the bus it was early in the morning and still pretty dark. Anyway the back end of the bus was not all the way on the tracks so most of the kids in the back didn’t get hurt as bad which explains why 12 out of 38 survived. Anyway two registered nurses were at a cafe that was pretty close to the tracks eating breakfast before going to work. After hearing the accident they ran out the door and saw what had happened. Then they got right to work trying to save some of the kids that had been thrown out of the bus. They were able to save a few because of their fast work and medical training. ( Hence the title “Rescue” ) Also, just because 12 kids lived doesn’t mean they walked away from it. They all were hospitilized for days and suffered from multiple broken bones, serious concussions, some were in comas, lots had to have multiple surgeries, etc. It is a very sad story and I pray for everyone that was one that bus that day and their families.

Okay, I have family in Texas, Alabama, California, etc. etc. blah. blah. and not to bust your preverbial bubble but this is not real. There are places like that in every state, for example. In Alabama there is a place called gravity hill where the exact same thing occurs. (put your car/truck in neutral and it rolls up hill by itself and stops in a down hill slope) I don’t know the technical stuff but I do know that it’s not just a thing that is in Texas. It’s world wide, there is a science behind it involving gravity and all that great stuff.

Well, if you want to know a real haunted house you should hear this story.About a few years ago me and my family lived in a house that is in meadow brook here in texas, the house number is 8010.One day when i was sleeping in my bed inside my bedroom , i heard a noise come from the hallway which my bedroom door was opened , i looked over my covers and i sall a little girl ghost walking down the hallway with a long sleeve flower shirt on with sweatpants that are purple colored. That freaked me out, i hid under neath my covers , but i had to go to the restroom but i was scared because that was the first time i ever seen a ghost plus we have been knowing about a ghost in our house but we never seen it until know for me. I got out from my bed and took my black pillow with me and covered part of my face but not all of it except for my eyes and part of my nose; i walk past my little sisters bed which she is a sleep, and i go into the hallway, i look both ways to see if i sall the girl ghost but she is nowhere to be seen. I slowly walk past my parents bedroom which is across my bedroom door.i see the bathroom door just barely opened, ‘Bang!’ , I heard my bedroom door shut closed and i felt like somebody is watching me behind my back, i run into the bathroom and just before i closed the door the ghost is right infront of the bathroom door from the hallway , she looked at me but i was so freaked out that i probably could have **** myself.I close the door and imediantly turn the lights on , i use the bathroom and when i opened the door back again i looked both ways and took my pillow and ran as fast as i could to my bedroom but before i pass my door i close it and ran to my bed then jumped in it and went to sleep.
What do you think?
