Thats pretty cool, I grew up in Staples, which is like 45 mins from Brainerd on highway 10, I wish I would have known about that before when I was still living there I would have checked it out. That sounds pretty fun, I am not scared of that stuff like most people, though I do believe you can be hurt by spirits but I am still not afriad, and very interested in it.

some time in the 1800s a railroad ran through a forest (which is now a very small woods) in st.james south side. well one night two kids went out to pick berries and well a train came and !!EL SMACKO!!. well one night about 100 years later 2 kids were dared to go into the woods to pick berries on the same night that the kids did 100 years ago,it was the same tempature it was a cloudy night the moon was full well when they went half way in (old train tracks go through the woods now) they heard screams and then a train horn and then they seen a light then they ran as fast as they could back into town they had nearly escaped death by the dead.

I came to this website after hearing about the St Cloud MN reference in the movie 1408. Brainerd is my hometown and I’ve been to the last turn numerous times. I always get freaked out when going into the place. There’s something shady about it, the old photographs on the walls don’t help either! But there’s good food there! Ha!

i have a friend that works in the vfw, she swears that the place is haunted, many nights she will have someone close with her. sounds of a man at the bar. she said that there are tunnels under most the bars, and where the tunnel comes into the bar it is blocked off. anybody else hear of the tunnels, and hauntings there?
