The Air Force Museum
The air museum took artifacts from an unlucky plane that crashed in the mountains. Victims of the crash have been seen staring at the display, and when security guards attempted to arrest them, they vanished. Soldiers who died in World War 1, World War 2, and the Vietnam Conflict have also been seen standing near or inside their plane. While staring blankly at the plane, guards would try to converse with them, which caused the spirits to disappear.

I used to spend a lot of time there as a kid. This is very much true. I saw a pilot in one of the planes, it was not one of the guys either. At that point, I knew most of them. When I tried to get nearer to see if, if it was a new guy maybe…..he was gone.

My dad use to work at the Air Force Museum as a patrol officer. When he was sitting in his office he would hear a bunch of people whispering, which he did not see any people around. Also, while he was walking he would see out of the corner of his eye people sitting in the airplanes. When he would go over and look, there were no people in the planes.
One day early in the morning he and his friend heard a loud crash and then they searched the entire museum and there was no evidence of a crash. Very spooky.

My husband used to take me to the Museum when we were dating because he knows all about how planes work and his sensitivity is so high that there were parts of the museum we wouldn’t even go to. I believe that there are a lot of negative vibes trapped in there because of what the planes were used for.

I’ve actually been there a few times myself and must admit I don’t find it spooky at all. And I’ve even talked to security guards that work there and they say they haven’t seen a single thing. To be extra sure as well I’ve even called the chief of security for the museum and he said that he’s never heard anyone say anything about any of this stuff. It kinda disappointed me there him say that I was really hoping ghosts were there.

It was me and a bunch of my friends just went like two months ago, and we went into a plane that you can only go half way due to construction. i seen a man dressed up like a WWII person. He looked up at me, smiled and waved, then went backy to workin on the plane. I looked away, then looked back and he was gone. Everything he touched, looked like he didn’t move anything, but i seen him pick it up!!!

i would love to visit this place! i do believe that some spirits have a hard time letting go of there life here on earth. so they stay with the thing they love and remember most so maybe the can find some truth in there death.

I have a uncle who was a exhibit designer for the museum and coincidently died in the museum in 1987. One day when I was a kid my cousin, my uncle and myself were taking a walk through the museum and my uncle (who knew a lot about the aircraft)was making the comment that all the tires on the aircraft were filled with cement to keep them from deflating. Then he proceeded to tell us that all the planes were placed precisely in the museum to maximize space. That is when he started spooking my cousin and myself out by saying it was strange that some of the planes were moved on a regular basis at night and when he would arrive for work they (museum workers)would have to set the planes back into place. He made the comment to me he would never be caught alone at the museum at night from what others had told him. He never elaborated on the other tales. He did say The “Strawberry *****” was rumored amoung the workers to be very haunted.

First of all, the plane mentioned was the Lady B Good-and it went down in the desert, not the mountains. Just wanted to clarify a bit of misinformation.
Secondly-I have gone to the museum many, many times and have had strange experiences nearly every time. Seeing people out of the corner of my eye, being followed through the museum (once something actually followed me out of the museum), things knocked out of my hands, etc. There are quite a few exhibits that are haunted-check out the Haunted Ohio books by Chris Woodyard to read more detail.

I, myself have been to the museum, and I didn`t see one ghost or creepy, haunting thing there. When people are exspecting things to be haunted, they are going to start imaginaing things. For example, if someone has heard that the Air Force Museum is hunted with dummies, then what are they going to see a the corner of there eye…? Our consious can change our whole view of things, so watch out. The haunted houses and things people have put on here are for entertainment and they are not real, unless you call what your consious tells you and what you see at the corner of your eye real.

There is an exhibit that I have felt/sensed since I was about 15. I make it a point to go and say hi every now and again.
My mom went one time, looked up at it and said “you’re Angel’s friend, huh?” and felt this very defensive, very hostile “what of it?” I’d never mentioned the exact exhibit to my ex-husband when we were married, but knowing he feels/senses things too, asked him if he could find it. He walked right under it, stopped, looked up and asked “this yours?” A Native American neighbor of a guy I dated, spoke of it and said people will actually avoid it because they feel/sense that it’s inhabited.
I went with my best friend a few years back and while standing across the hangar from it, saw what appeared to be a man sitting in the cockpit. I called out to Dale, asked him if he saw anything (didn’t mention what). He did a half moon walk from side to side around it to see if it was a trick of light, walked back to me and all he said was “spooky.” It wasn’t a hologram, wasn’t a mannequin, and wasn’t a trick of light.
I’m not afraid of it/him but it definitely makes for some interesting visits.

Used to go there as a kid, back in the 70s. When no one was watching we’d crawl up in some of the planes before they were sealed up, like they are today. Particuarly the “Strawberry B-tch”, the B-24 they have on display. We crawled all through that plane. Often times people would hear us and stop and stare, not knowing we were staring back through some crack.
We also crawled through the B-29, the B-36, and the B-52.
Wonder if this is the source of some of the “hauntings.”

…I went to the museum on a field trip once. Yeah,I was freaked out by the mannequins.. but that was just because they were weird. I really didn’t see/feel anything out of the ordinary. It was just really boring.

I moved to Dayton a couple of years ago and I love the USAF Museum. When you go there, be sure to walk through the Holocaust Memorial. You will here sounds of people asking for help. You may also hear the sound of children crying and begging not to be taken from their parents.

My friends and I, upon first hearing about the hauntings there, we took a video camera/audio recorder with us. We took pictures and slight audio from the supposedly haunted areas (such as Hop a Long and the Strawberry B***H plane) We got nothing in our pictures, however around the Strawberry B***H plane we got what sounds like someone saying “Here to and/or Come to me”. Also u can faintly hear what sounds like Big Band music, but if you’ve ever been to the museum, then you know that they do not play any music there regularly during visiting hours. Kinda creepy.

Someone above said music wasn’t played in the museum. That is incorrect. I don’t know if it changed but at the Glenn Miller exhibit, Big Band music was played. I’ve been there many times, including during evening concerts, and have never seen anything unusual or felt wierd.

I grew up in the Fairborn area that is just outside of the base. What people don’t know is, just east of the museum (up the hill) is the Wright Brothers Memorial. The special thing about that is, there is a Indian burial mounds behind it. As kids we would go sledding at night at the hill. We would build fires near the mounds to keep warm and sometime the flame would do strange things. Later when I joined the Air force, I heard about the “little green men that were in hanger 18. Funny enough I worked in that hanger for years. About the museum, we got the chance to refurbish some of the aircraft there. Most of the aircraft is worked before it is taken to the museum. The annex of the museum is where you REALLY see weird things. This is also a public place not to many people know about.

I remember going into the air force museum as a child. the first time we went as a family my sisters and I were completely terrified as we walked into the room. We were screaming and crying and my parents had to reassure us that it was okay before we would go in. I remember thinking the place was very creepy. Maybe it’s time for a revisit.

My family used to visit the museum a lot since we lived close by and my dad was a jet mechanic during the Korean and Viet Nam “conflicts.” One day, my dad and I were looking at one of the planes (used during Viet Nam) and he said “look up.” A pilot was saluting my dad from the cockpit. When we alerted a passing guard, he went to the plane to show us no one was there, the pilot laughed and disappeared. The guard gave us a funny look, said “see? No one there..” and quickly went out of the hangar. Dad wouldn’t talk about it or go back….ever. Later, before he passed away, he said he thought the pilot was one he had crewed for. Also, my uncle brought in one of the planes on his semi. He said you could hear voices and other noises all of the time coming from the plane. When they got to the museum, the guards unlocked the plane and showed them that not only was the plane empty, none of the equipment could be turned on.

I once went to the museum with my family. As soon as I entered the first exhibit on the first floor,I started crying my eyes out.I got this terrible feeling of sadness and felt like I needed to get out of there. It is said that sensitives can feel sadness and dread whenever they go there.
