The Albino Woman
The “Albino Woman” is often seen walking through he cemetery wearing long, white dresses. Sometimes, she tends graves. Mostly, however she frightens those who venture into the cemetery after dark.

Actually from what I have heard, the albino woman had a child with some man, the child was also albino and everybody thought they were witches so they killed her and the child. They buried her in the cememtary but not the child, so the albino woman goes at night trying to find her lost child.

I live near the cemetary, but I have yet to see the “Albino Woman”. The legend that I’ve heard is that she was killed by her husband so she sort of prays on men. That’s just what I’ve been told though, so no one really knows.

There waw an albino woman who lived on the cemetary property and a lot of youngsters thought she was a wierdo just, because of her appearance. They’d go out to the cemetary just to make fun of her. Well one night these high school boys were out there trash talkin the old woman and she probably finally decided to talk back. Of course they didnt take a liking ot that so they lit her house up in flames as a joke. The fire was quikly out of there control so they ran and left the old woman to burn. When the smoke cleared and the clean up crew came to find any evidence of foul play they didnt find a thing in the ash of human remnants. Not one bone of the woman yet she was never seen again…alive anyways

I lived in Topeka,Kansas and I never heard of the albino woman. But I did live in a haunted house: 1407 SW Van Buren. Me, and my family have had several encounters there. Matter of fact, in the backyard of the house, there was a grave. Check it out if u dont believe me. When I was a kid, me and my sister and brother used to ride our bikes over it all of the time because the top of it would stick out of the ground like a small hump. My older brother, when he was younger, woke up in the middle of the night to see a little boy crying at the end of his bed.(a ghost) Yes I know, that is creepy.

In the mid ’60’s I along with some other guys and girls used to go out there on Friday and Saturday nights. It was by the Rochester Cemetary and not too far from the Rochester School. It was pitch dark and we all were hunched together in a car when we heard someone crying. We all thought someone in the car was being a practical joker, but everyone swore they weren’t playing games. Then all of a sudden on of the girls in the car gets hysterical and starts screaming and crying. She said that she sees something walking towards the Car. Everyone is freaking out and the driver started the car and about went into a ditch. Luckily we didn’t. I didn’t see her, but a buddy of mine did and he was really freaked out too and couldn’t even talk for awhile. It was no joke on us from the two who seen her because this had a heck of an impact on them both, not just for a night, but the following couple months. All I know is someone saw something..

There was indeed an albino woman and they are right it was by the Rochester Cemetary. She was an albino and many people mostly kids ( like me and my friends) would go there to try and see her. We seen her once and she did scare us but I think the poor old thing just wanted to be left alone so her only resort was to scare people off her property.

One night a couple of years ago my boyfriend and I and another couple decided to go down to the cemetary. Our boyfriends didn’t believe the ghost story so they decided to go into the cemetary. Around 5 minutes later they came running back, jumped into the car, and we took off. About a mile down the road we stopped and they told us that my boyfriend had wanted to see if they could get her to appear. My boyfriend had spit on her “grave” and kicked it. They heard a shrill scream right after it and they ran out.

about the year 2003 a few of my ppl from my youth group went there. we had two cars. this was in the fall. it was getting dark so we decided to leave. when we went to leave, my father’s truck would not start. we were going to take the other car out. when we reached the road we found that the gates were locked. there was no way out. we called the cops to get the gates unlocked. while the cops were coming with the cemetary owner(that had the keys) me and a couple of friends deceded to walk around. so we walked to the other end of the cemetary. out of nowhere in the distence, through some trees we saw a albino lady in a white dress walking her dog around the edge of the cemetary. i am dead serious, i swear on my mothers grave. i didnt even know about the albino lady until after this happened. its real

As with the Stull Cementery the ghost is a fake. In the 60’s yes we all looked for the Albino lady. Met her once. A nice lady just wanted to be left alone and walk her dogs(white shepards) at night because of being an albino. She never harmed any one. Just a bunch of us kids at that time getting dunk or high looking for something to do and a place to park. She was finally commited by family for her on protection. She was almost hit several time by cars full of scared kids. But what good is a good ghost story anyway. As for now it make for a good tale.
After all it was the 60’s

one day me,my family, and friend went to rochester cemetary the weekend before halloween ,because we wanted to see the albino lady or other ghost.we went to the older cemetary down the street from the newer one first.when we went inside the older cemetary we brought the ouija board and a digital camera.when we took the ouija board out of the box everybody got really hot then got chills.”it freak my friend out.”after we got finished with the older cemetary my aunt took a picture of a tree.after that we went to the newer one up the street, but left the ouija board in the car.so we went inside after five minutes my friend, uncle, and i heard a ghost go boohh i told my dad ,but he said it might of been a car.a couple minutes later we seen a car go down the street and it sounded nothing like the sound we heard. so i wanted to go ,but my aunt and dad wanted to take more pictures of the cemetary for a couple more minutes as we were walking toward a shed the wind started to blow really hard so after that we went to the car.when we went inside the car my aunt wanted to see the pictures she took and their were a ton of orbs.so when we started to leave the house next to the cemetary the lights started to turn of “on and off” so we left quickley.

This is a story based, again, on some fact but mostly fiction.
There really was a strange, albino woman who lived in North Topeka, near Rochester Cemetery. She used to walk her dog at night, likely due to the irritation that sunlight causes someone with true albinism.
The woman died in 1963, and was buried at the Rochester Cemetery, and reports of her ghost began shortly thereafter, including a report from the Cemetery caretaker himself in 1968.
He reported that he and his wife had seen a figure moving among the gravestones when they’d pulled into their driveway one evening. Thinking it was just a child playing a prank, he aimed the car’s headlights at the area where the figure was seen and got out of the car to investigate. He then saw the figure of the woman kneeling in front of a grave, at which time it stood up, glared at him, and then disappeared deeper into the cemetery. He was upset by the experience enough that he reported it to the police, but they found nothing.
Is there something to the story? There’s enough evidence that can be found to indicate that it’s, at a minimum, based in fact. But, as with any ghost story, most of what you hear about it is over-embellished fiction based on small kernels of truth.

The albino women was a real person. She was alone most of her life. Due to her apperence people stayed away from her. Some children even called her names and made fun of her. Her ghost hasnt been seen since the 80’s. I think that she has left this world. Maybe her spirt finally found peace, or maybe she chooses not to be seen. I have heard stories from my grandmother who lived behind Rochester Cemetry that she has seen the albino women walking out of her woods staring up at my grandma’s house. I have lived in Topeka, KS all my life. I havent seen the Albino Women yet, but i still have unanswered questions about her.
What is her real name?
How old was she when she died?
Did she have any family?
When did she die?
How did she die?
Is she still haunting the cemetry and the area around it?
If any of you know the answer to any of these questions please post.
Just to clear things up, she didnt have a child and she isnt looking for it. So many people say that because they heard it from someone else. People just take the Bloody Mary story and give it to any ghost that was a women. It is very over used! Even if the Albino Women had a child i think that someone would have known.

I have a few questions about The Albino Lady. But I will only like to ask one. Does anyone have any hints on what her ghost is searching for? Albino people are known for bad vision if their albiness is bad enough to make them have pink eyes. And the condition is hereditary. So could someone if they have any idea’s on the answer to What her ghost is searching for please email me or leave a note on my website. Thank you.

I was thinking about going out there tonight but i know it’s locked up at night. i went to rochester elementary and lived in north topeka almost all my adult life. never seen albino lady. anybody remember the creepy house in north topeka by the rubber workers union? it had trees all around it and a bunch of VW’s in the yard. big vicious dogs…teeth painted on mailbox??? freaky area anyways.

the rubber workers union (old site) at NW Taylor and Waddell st for clarification. it’s on the west side of taylor, directly north of the railroad tracks.
we used to go to the union workers building for different parties/receptions and get freaked out by the eerieness of that place across the parking lot!
we’d run to our cars!

My teacher told us the story one day and the main idea is just a woman just wanting to be alone. But to understand her you have to know a little about her life. My teacher met her once. Just once in his life. He was on a bike and his tire was going flat. Then he turned around and about 30 yards away he saw her. Her hair all over the place and he said that he almost didnt make it because every time he got faster she got closer. I will never forget what she said. She said Im going to get you. Im going get you…..ALL.

I live pretty close and have been to the Rochester Cemetery 50 - 75 times probably. I find them relaxing and my friends and I go there a lot when its nice out to just chill. I’ll be honest, it’s late and some of these stories freaked me out a bit, but I’ve never seen a damn thing at the Rochester Cemetery. I heard her grave is near the gate in the nearest right corner with the rest of the super old headstones, but I’m not sure about that. Anyway, I don’t think ghost are real but could be wrong I guess. Like a lot of people have said, she was real at least. My grandma knew her or knew of her. Can’t remember what she said. These stories about her being mean sound completely ridiculous to me, as people who have accounts of her being alive all say good things about her. Bringing Jim Bean is a pretty good idea to the guy who said that. I’ve had a tiny bottle of Gin in the cemetery before, but I’m not surprised she didn’t appear for a sip of that. It tasted like ****, but only cost like a dollar from the new liquor store that was built next to Little Caesars near by.

I have seen the albino woman two times. You dont really need to be scared of her she isnt after you. sometimes there are many stories about her but when you actually see it you will understand it better. the fact that no one sees her is because she only comes on halloween her child is still alive and when you hear her calling him it makes it sound like his name is chris. She is about 5′6 and she died around her mid twenties. She died in a house fire. And the fact is she really isnt albino. Her baby was in the house but some how her baby survived. the one thing that was intresting though is… she also knows your name. she asks you to help find him. She squeals his name. All she wants to do is find her kid. the street she lived on was clay but i dont know the exact address the house she was in was burnt down to the ground and a new house is now on top. people that live in the house now say that sometimes they hear a child playing and then he cries out for his mom
