i leaved up there then i moved. i still go to the rochester school [not anymore i finally graduated] but my friend lauren leaves right by it. so we thought it would be funny to go down and see it. we had no clue about the albino woman. i am happy we didn’t go but my grandma says that if we really wanted to go that she would take us but we would have to try to make friends with her. i think it would be cool to make with her.

I have lived in Topeka 26 years my whole life and I have heard this urban legend. My frinds and I have went to the Rochester cemetary after dark with some friends to play flashlight tag. I am a huge ghost hunting buff and was hoping to find something but unfortunately in my own personal opinion this is only an urban legend because no matter how much I wanted to see or experience something I didn’t!!!

I have a picture of what “appears” to be the face of an “albino” woman peering from behind headstone, i didn’t find it till the next day after downloading on to computer and zooming in pretty close to see…but after much examination i think its just a play of light thru the trees…..???

I live in Topeka. I lived almost next door to the cemetery and for years spent many nights in that place. Two occasions have happened but i dont think that she intends to hurt or scare people. They just get scared.

The Albino Woman story is this. She was married to a farmer, who worked the land around there house, which i’ve heard is on the East Side of 32nd street. The woman, being an albino, was unable to leave her house during the day because of her pigments. She was only allowed to leave at night. So when night falls at the Rochester Cemetery, she comes out to socialize with the guests. Another story also tells of her husbands ghost accompanying her. He is always carrying a pitch fork. Now I have only been in the cemetery once, and did not see anything. But I did not remember very much of the time in there and as I entered a “dust cloud” traveled in front of my car, east to west, even though the wind was traveling west to east.

I live in Topeka and i have heard of the albino lady. I have never actually meet someone who has seen it, but in 7th grade some of my friends science teacher said she lived right next to the cemmentary and has seen the albino lady walking outside of her house several times.
That is probably the only reason why im curious if its real or not, because i wouldnt expect a teacher to lie. but you never know.

As with the Stull Cementery the ghost is a fake. In the 60’s yes we all looked for the Albino lady. Met her once. A nice lady just wanted to be left alone and walk her dogs(white shepards) at night because of being an albino. She never harmed any one. Just a bunch of us kids at that time getting dunk or high looking for something to do and a place to park. She was finally commited by family for her on protection. She was almost hit several time by cars full of scared kids. But what good is a good ghost story anyway. As for now it make for a good tale.
After all it was the 60’s

Well, i’m a north topekan and the story that i’ve been told was that an albino woman along with her white dog were treated very poorly her whole life, especially by men. No one dared to date or even talk to the old woman. Night by night she walked from her home in the woods, currently near NW 35th street and Button Rd. in the Washburn University Field Research Land, to the cemetery where she tended to the graves. When she died she was buried in Rochester cemetery. Some daring teens always went into the cemetery and told everyone that an albino woman walked around at night with her dog and scared them away. Another rumor says that when you drive by Rochester Cemetery at night, once you pass it, if there are animal footprints on your back windshield, than the albino lady and her dog have visited you on your driveby. Some say that she favored women over men, so as long as there are more women than men either in the car of walking around, you should be alright. Her grave is unlocatable to date. Some say that it was covered up for vandalism threats, while others say she has an unmarked grave somewhere in the eastern old part of the cemetery. So there you have it, that’s the albino woman, SWEET DREAMS!!!!!!!!!!!

I have seen the albino woman two times. You dont really need to be scared of her she isnt after you. sometimes there are many stories about her but when you actually see it you will understand it better. the fact that no one sees her is because she only comes on halloween her child is still alive and when you hear her calling him it makes it sound like his name is chris. She is about 5′6 and she died around her mid twenties. She died in a house fire. And the fact is she really isnt albino. Her baby was in the house but some how her baby survived. the one thing that was intresting though is… she also knows your name. she asks you to help find him. She squeals his name. All she wants to do is find her kid. the street she lived on was clay but i dont know the exact address the house she was in was burnt down to the ground and a new house is now on top. people that live in the house now say that sometimes they hear a child playing and then he cries out for his mom
