The Boston House
In 1901, a woman hanged herself in the attic of this building. The attic, which now serves as an attorney’s office, is haunted by the woman. The woman now haunts the buildings. Her visits occur so often that the story has been featured in the local newspaper numerous times.

i was born and raised in fort pierce and have lived in the area almost my whole life (20plus years). When i was a kid, my older sisters told me about the BOSTON HOUSE being haunted. The woman hanging herself i remember, but what freaked me out was what my sis told me happened later. Late 1980s or early 1990s another woman had a paranormal experience in the BOSTON HOUSE. She was heading downstairs (from the attic, im guessing) and a force pulled her back up until she finally forced herself back downstairs and out of the building. I definitely believe that place is haunted because i have heard of way too many incidents concerning that place and the events and hauntings that took place.

Okay I to believe it’s haunted but the house was built 8 years later! How could someone hang themsleves when the house wasn’t even built. I have had 2 experinces there, they are a cold spot which might have been her touching me (the woman waiting for her family)and actulally seeing her.

i have been to the boston house but never seen the ghost. The story that i herd was that the father and son went fishing across the street in the river and they were swept away by a current. i also went there in grade school. there are many huanted houses in fort pierce florida for any thrill seekers. and may good ones in jensen beach about 14 miles south.

Here is a website that will help clear things up a little. Also I was refering to two different stories about the hauntings. 1) the woman who hanged herself and 2) the Perkins family.

The haunted park a couple of you were talking about earlier, Oak Hammock.. ive been there a few times..ive lived in psl (port st lucie), for ten years now… every once in a while me and gf and a couple friends would mess around in the park, outta sheer boreddom.(coming from someone who lived in a haunted house for years before i moved here, so i believe in haunting spirits and ghosts). and the park is NOT anything to worry about. the story is that three girls were murdered under the “haunted” tree or also knows the devils tree, and every once in awhile you could hear screams coming from the tree, from the park exit, and the girls bathroom..like i said the park is not anything to get exited about its a blocked of trail walk-way after 7PM…and port st lucie pd patrols the area…but if you want to try the tree and try your luck, there are two trails that lead you to the tree, the right side,by the river, and the left side (by the picnic tables)… once you get back in the trail, its the biggest tree back there you cant miss it..PS. if anybody’s gunna try it, bring a flashlight, because there are people back hiding in there just d***ing around wearing black hoodies…just to scary you….they wont kill u, just scare you for laughs….be careful though…its dark back there…. thanks…

THX Chewy. I’ll be sure to take ur advice if I to Oak Hammock to see the tree. I live here in fort pierce so it is a disgrace to me that the story should be the one you can’t prove in any way. I have even done a report on the house and all the reports I read had to do w/ either the the incident that happened with the youngest Jones( orignal family in the Boston House) or the Perkins story. Not one of the reports had to deal w/ the woman that hung herself. SO HA!!! take that!!

I can tell you that the story of the hanging isn’t founded in fact. There are quite a few unique occurrence at the Boston House, though. I’ve detailed as many of them as possible on The Grim Society website- you can find the post mentioned above includes all of the factual evidence we were able to gather on the history of the house.
In regards to Oak Hammock Park, we have also done quite a bit of research into the reported activities at that location. The information we were able to turn up can be found under the post ‘Examining An Urban Legend’ here: http://thegrimsociety.com/2007/09/25/examining-an-urban-legend/
We also have done a bit of follow up, which can be found under the search key ‘The Devil’s Tree’, which you can pull up here:

I hope this helps to clear up any confusion about these two locals.

Why don’t they just hire the ghost lady as a secretary? It’s not like ghosts that haunt places have anything better to do. Gotta get boring don’t ya think?

Well, I heard a tragic romantic story,it was the mom, the dad and the son who lived there and one day, the dad took the son fishing and they never returned from their trip. So, the mom never left the window. They say she is still waiting for them to return, she has been watching out the window ever since, the poor dear. No one knows what happened to the dad and the son. It is a mystery. Passerbys say they have seen her watching out the window. I went there before on the outside with some friends we sat on the porch and it wasn’t evil and scarey. Its really a calm place.

Is this the same story where the lady was waiting for her son and husband to return from sea. And she look out at the river to wait for them but was told theyv had preished so she hanged herself. But still waits at the window waiting and watching? Because i have been there before and i think i saw her! And it was in Fort Pierce. Which next to my city. PSL. I think it was called the boston house and people if you have never been to the place then dont say its fake. Maybe the person didnt have many resources to choose from.

I live in Fort Pierce, and I have been inside the, “Boston House”. It used to be a lawyer’s office if memory serves me right. While I was inside of this house I felt as if something was watching me. I remember waiting with my Grandma to see the attorney and looking out the window to see a reflection of a female dressed in the late victorian era clothes. I asked the secretary if she ever saw anything funny here and she told me that the place was haunted and she did not like being there alone. That must have been some 15 years ago now, whenever I go for a walk downtown I look up into the windows there and sometimes see the same lady looking out the window at us-she looks very distressed as if she has lost a child or other close family member.

@Luna
I read your blog site and I have some interesting information for you concerning this site.
My son was doing a research project for school on the paranormal and we decided to use this location sine it was close to home and we could take him to the site. In my search for information I stumbled across a city official that gave me some interesting information on the site. I’ve lived here for 20+ years and as much as I personally have been to the site in search for the location on the tree have never found it. However, the city official I spoke to cleared some things up for me and made it very clear why I, or anyone for that matter, can not locate the tree. The tree was actually cut down, the rumors that chainsaw broke and axes flew off the handles is just that. A rumor or better yet a urban legend. When the parks and recreation took over that land it was asked that for respect for the family’s of the victims the tree be removed. And it was. The person that I spoke to was there the day it was removed and the stump was dug up and hauled off by a huge flatbed. The city then built (ready for this one?) the pavilion in the spot where the tree was!!! Just to the left of the playground and yes, the bathrooms. This is certainly explains the activity being so strong in the bathroom and immediate surrounding area. And it makes sense, considering in most articles I have read on Gerard Schaefer, the bodies were found right next to the immediate area by the C-24 canal. The fisherman hung up there by the canal, I highly doubt they went hiking in the surrounding woods.
Anyhow, we got some evidence last night at the pavilion and by the bathrooms on video. We will be further reviewing the footage today to see if it can be debunked or not. I will let you know if I find anything worthy of sharing if you are interested. let me know if you are interested.
Cheers
