Real Haunted House

The Burning Bus

Edgewood, Texas

Here, all that remains in the shell of a burned bus. It is said that years ago a group of children was on the way to school on this dark, lovely, dirt road when the bus suddenly burst into flames. The children and their driver all perished in the blaze because no one was around for many miles to hear the screams. It is said now that if one travels down the road at night, the children’s screams will be heard loud and clear.

This is very true, me and three of my friends came from beaumont texas to verify it for are selves. We stayed the night out by the bus behind the metal fence, as i got later into the night we all heard the events of the bus. We heard tires screeching, an explosion in the distance out by the pond, then out of no where we heard more than four kid voices scream. The screams got louder and louder, we all tried to stay the night out there, but then as we were in the tent we heard a loud motor screech, when we all looked out side there was no vehicle but the sound was still there. We got all of it on camera, until the battery died when it was at a full charge. Freaky or scary???? So yes the burning bus is very much true.

I am so amazed at the amount of people who say they have been there and seen it all but I worry the lack of intelligence they have on the directions to this “so called” place

I have been by the burning bus just this halloween just driving by it creeped me out. My boyfriend teased me about stopping there and I freaked out as soon as we passed it everyone in the car just got this weird feeling. If we would have stayed out there I’m sure something would have happened.

I live in Edgewood, and it is not hard to get to. It is real,me and my friends went on Halloween night. when we pulled up we shut of the car and listend. We heard screaming and when we tryed to back out are car stuck in Neutral for about 10min. We got out of neutral and left and we all felt like we needed to go back. like if someone wanted us to go help them. we drove by it one time and the bus was full of smoke and it smelt really bad

i’ve been down that road and the bus is creepy looking. i’ve heard that during halloween the owner of the land where the bus is lights the bus on fire for a memorial of the bus driver and kids, and for the rest of the year he lets the trees and grass grow up in the bus so its easier to catch on fire. its creepy but it is a true story. dont try and doubt it…

i heard that the bus driver was sucidial and hated kids and he was fed up with his life and was half-crazed so he ran the bus into a tree purposley and caught the bus in fire. teh kids couldnt do anythign becasue it was too late before they got out of teh schock of impact. you can hear it at night, when all is dark adn quiet, and if you stand close enough, you can feel the heat. its creepy and im from edgewood so this is my experience!!

im from wills point which is the next town over. i had a friend that lived down the read from where the bus is at, I’ve actually even been on it befor lol. its all rusted up but still very much standing at least at the time it was which was about 12 years ago. its very cool to see first hand especially if you believe in paranormal things. i see that alot of people want to know the location of where the bus is located i will see if i can track that down and post it here.

The bus has been moved out of the area. They say if you go out there you can still see the glow of the flames an hear the screams. I am from grand saline an was on my way with some friends to go see it. We were right down the road from our turn to it when an owl flew beside us an the tire blew all of a sudden. I got chills an refused to go. A police officer was called to help with our tire an when we explained to him what we were doing he told us that it is best for our safety not to go out there. He said he has had calls about bad things happening an people dying. An that it was just safer to go home. Why would a police officer say something like that if it isn’t true? I was pretty creeped out. & I’ve never heard of goat lady? I’ve only heard of the goat man bridge. It is believed that there are demons that walk the earth. I believe in spirits an stuff. Just like the oija board. Of demons an spirits weren’t real, explain the oija board game. Because that is very much real.

Me and my friend, Mike Blobner, just saw this story on the internet for the first time. The story told isnt quite correct. We know this because me and Mike told the same story 30 years ago. Mike lives on VZCR 3504 in the old 2 story white house next to where the burning bus once lay. The property has been in his family for over 130 years. The bus was carrying children but wasnt going to school, instead was picking up children on Van Zandt County Road 3501 headed for Sunday School. And the bus driver had been drinking heavily that day and crashed the bus through the fence hitting the metal corral behind it causing the bus to catch on fire and burn the children to death. If you were to afraid to approach the bus you could still just drive by it and see the glimmer of the childrens eyes in the bus windows. Some say that the “screams” were only coyotes in the woods but you would have to hear it for yourself to decide. I have personally taken many people to see the Burning Bus and only a few were brave enough to even get out of the car to approach it. The road itself is pitch black at night because of being covered by trees overhanging the road on both sides. Most of the bus, unfortunately, has since been removed for scrap metal except for the steering wheel and transaxle as of today.

I grew up in Edgewood and lived in the area nearly all my life and I NEVER heard of this story.

Angel says:

This is not true. If anyone was hearing anything or seeing anything it was probably just in their minds and they created what they wanted to see/hear. I have been out there a dozen and more times. I live in Edgewood, and have land close to this road. One night me and a friend went and parked out by the bus, and nothing. NOT ONE THING happened. We even turned the car off and laid on the hood. I didn’t hear anything or see anything. I kinda hoped to honestly though. But I was disappointed. We were out there for several hours. Maybe it was just not something for me or I didn’t have a “connection,” but I didn’t experience anything. Sometimes I believe that if people hear the “legend” or stories enough times, they begin to believe things themselves. That’s the only way I could explain what others may have experienced.

The bus was there for years. But the owners decided to have the bus destroyed due to all the mishaps happening there. They were afraid someone would get hurt. I live close enough to walk to where it was.

It’s been a decade and the bus is supposedly gone, but I’m still interested in checking out the area. If anyone is local to the area and has an experience or any related material, I’d love to chat with you. Most of the e-mails posted here are no longer in use. E-mail me at ohgioh@gmail.com

So this story has been told since I was a baby. It is in fact still very very true. First off the bus didn’t burst into flames the bus driver wrecked causing the bus to set on fire. I have been going out there with friends for years even through highschool. Always something happens.every time you go there will be a car behind you that dissapears over the hill. I have taken pictures of the road where we caught a person walking across the road and this was in the day. This place is haunted as hell but I will also say that it is the most interesting place to learn about.

It is not there anymore or me and my friend are blind or didn’t see it.. kinda sad they would take a piece of history away 🙁
