I have lived in Topeka my whole life, 34yrs. And it is true. A woman did kill herself by jumping from inside the dome. I work in the Capitol building as a Guard and can tell you I havent heard any screeming or foot steps. Working 3rd shift you do hear alot of banging and crashing noises, But it is an old building. I have had only one thing happen there that I cant explain, When you enter an office you to let them know you are in there by yelling that you are in there so not to suprise anyone. I was checking an office in the basement and yelled that I was there doing a building check and a woman answered me, I looked all over that office and did not find anyone in there.

In 8th grade we went there and got to climb close to top.It was in 1984.I know I got sick as we got close to top and felt dizzy and nauseated.Could have been the heights but I know there was a strange smell that caused me to be sick.

I have been to the Capital building many times. I took the tour to the dome once last summer. I had heard many stories about the building being haunted from several employees there, including security. They all say that you don’t want to go there at night. I was also told that there are many ghosts inhabiting the building.

This story is true. When I was in my teens, I had a friend of mine whose brother worked as an EMT. For some reason, he took photos at scenes & kept them in an album. I saw the result of this fall. She went to the top of the stairs, inside, & jumped off. She landed on a janitor’s metal bucket & it literally ripped her face off. I still remember that pic. Thank God it was in black n white.
