The Falcon Apartments
Two ghosts have appeared frequently in this building’s hallway, near the mailboxes and the manager’s apartment. The ghosts are reported to be two former residents of the apartments: Mr. Cooke, who always watched over and repaired the mailboxes. The other was Jimmy, who always had a fear of dying alone. Mr. Cooke died in 1989, and appears to have never left. He has been spotted where his chair once stood, and walking down the hallway. In 1994, the building was devastated by a series of fires. The first fire left a circular burn spot on the very location that Mr. Cooke used to sit on during his mortal life. Jimmy kept to himself during his years at the apartment complex, and would talk to various other tenants as they passed by. Contrary to his wish of having someone to watch him, he died alone. He is often seen sitting where his chair once was. Various ghostly happenings have occurred on the premises such as knockings on the doors, slamming of locked mailboxes, and many others in apartment 101, which some say can be attributed to a third ghost. The ghosts of Mr. Cooke and Jimmy have never been seen together.

Heceta Head Light is said to be haunted by the spirit of an old lighthouse keeper’s wife, named Rue, who people say remains becasue she loved the house. She has been seen in the attic by a construction worker and he dropped a window he was putting in into the room. When he went to fix it from the outside (he wouldn’t go into the attic anymore) the glass that was scattered all over the floor before was swept into a neat pile. No one had been in the attic since the worker had run away. She has been seen quite a few times but I’m not sure of any other stories. I would like to know if anyone else has heard any more stories.

The ghost at Heceta Head is a rather recent addition to the light house. The light keeper and his wife were friends of my grand parents, and my mother, who is in her mid- eighties remembers having crackers and milk there as small child. For decades nobody spoke of anything there out of the ordinary. So, the ghost must be another new arrival from California.

How come you can not believe in God? Saying that haunts are real the devil has done something to you. You should belive in God and know that haunting is not really real. Ghosts are not real only angles. Ask god tonight if ghosts and hauntings are real and see what he says.

so brittany if you don’t think this stuff is real and that god does not want us to dicuss these very real things then what the hell are you doing on this website! do us all a favor and stay off this website until you grow up and quit contradicting yourself with your words and actions. How old are you anyway, you do not sound very intelligent.

Hey, yeah I drive by the apartments all the time, my mother was even wanting to live there, we didn’t move there though. We both are very into the paranormal, I really want to be a paranormal investigator, I think that would be awesome. Um, yeah I believe it, because a lot of buildings on Killingsworth are very old so yeah.
I would love to investigate if I become a paranormal investigator lol.

Hey I live in Portland OR. and have recently been doing some ghost hunting at the Lone Fir cemetery. I live right by it. I’ve been told it’s the oldest in OR. Any way I have gotten some EVP stuff there and LOTS of orb pix. Plus there is a black cat the always just all the suddenly shows up when I’m doing my hunting. I’d love to meet up with anyone here interested in doing this!

JD – in response to your note about the Lone Fir cemetery, I was just there this weekend and got a number of EVPs. I was wondering if you caught someone singing, probably a female voice, just a few notes. I think I caught something that sounds like a lullabye. I also caught a bit in Spanish. If anyone else caught similar EVPs, it would back up the findings.

About EVP’s at Lone Fir. I have got some EVP there, some sounds mostly, one that I think kind of sounds like digging maybe sort of a knocking and scrapping noise and no it was not the cord of the mic. One of the last times I went there I did a few recordings around the cemetery and then went to the place I get the most orb pix. When I returned home to listen all the recordings were fine except there. The recording turns to a muffled hissing noise and did not even pick up my voice on the recorder. It’s strange because I did nothing to the tape recorder to alter it’s ability to record and tested it after at home and it recorded fine. I did get one possible voice once that sounded kind of like a kid saying “Get away.” But it was sort of playful, like a kid “defending” his tree house.
PS Still looking for folks in the area who would like to join me in doing this…..
