Real Haunted House

The Julie Ideson Building

Houston, Texas

n this former public library which is adjacent to the new one, Mr. Cramer used to roam the premises during his days as a janitor in the early 1900s. He would spend his leisure time strolling about the halls playing melodies on his violin, and playing with his dog. In 1936, he died alone in his room, which lies in the basement. Employees report that eerie strands of violin music are heard throughout the halls, usually on dreary, cloudy days. Mr. Cramer has also been spotted in one of his favorite haunts during his mortal life–the history room.

ha ha at jenny and jacky…that was funny…(i know its only one person). but where is this place at? never heard of it.

I went to Lanier Middle school and part of the 3rd floor was cut off as well. They said that it got cut off because a lab used to be there and it blew up..but i never knew whether to believe that or not. Not that it was haunted or anything but yeah.

When I was a kid my sister and I would go to the new library and always do a walk thru the old library, Everytime we went in there, it was creepy. It was always quite and it didnt seem like you were alone. My day while my sister was in the Restroom there, i decided to take a stroll up stairs. As I was walking up, Someone pushed me up the stairs. I turned around thinking it was my sister but no one was there. That was the last time we went to the library.

I live in Katy, TX and I haven’t even heard of this place. I love to experience haunted places. My friends and I used to visit abandoned houses that were haunted and this one house actually WAS haunted. we never really saw anything but a couple of shadows but we felt it more than anything. I will never set foot in that house again though. The last time I went with my friends to that house, my air seemed like it was cut off and there was a pressure around my throat. We ran outside and then I started coughing violently. It wasn’t until we got to the car, away from the house, that I was able to breathe again. It was a scary and horrible experience.

I went to this establishment during the month of April of 2009. Right when you enter you feel this weird vibe. You feel like if somebody is looking at you always and it makes you feel very uncomfortable. I kept truning around to see if I could spot anyone or hear anything. To make it even worse the pictures on the wall are very creepy and there is very little lighting inside.

The middle school they might be talking about could be Hogg Middle School. I know that there is a little girl who is seen in the receptionist area of one of the offices. A friend of my mom works there and she’s used to seeing the little girl appear. The little girl always sits on the bench or chairs in the reception area and doesn’t do or say anything. They’re pretty used to it by now.

I went to Harvard Elementary School in the Heights and my mom was friends with one of the janitor’s there; my mom works as a secretary for the district so she knew a lot of the employees in the central region. Anyway, the janitor said that at night she would hear children laughing and running and doors slamming on the second floor in the older part of the school. Harvard Elem. is over 100 years old. The middle part of the building, (the part of the school that has lockers), is the oldest part of the school, and is where the janitor hears the most activity.

I grew up in Houston and remember hearing this story when I was in elementary school on a field trip. The night watchman or janitor was a friendly spirit who use to play music late at night, some stories say to relax people studying late at night and when he died, he continued to play the violin for people working and studying late at night. He was not frightening or malevolent. He is a friendly ghost.

I saw a ghost one time at Conroe High School back in 1991 one early morning around 5:20am. It was in the boy’s restroom infront of the auditorium. The ghost or spirit was hiding behind the restroom door. The only thing that caught my attention was the restroom door began to rattled as I was washing my hands. I turned around and was able to catch a glimpse of a violet mist like object floating out behind the restroom door out to the hallway.

How interesting! I would love to go there, I really think it’s a nice spirit.I just saw a story on tv of a friendly ghost which made me search of places in Downtown Houston which is very old. I wouldn’t be scared at all, just awkward.
