The Lady of the Lake (a.k.a. The White Rock Lady)
Soon after this lake was built in the 1920s, a girl was on her way home when she decided to cross the spillway to save time. Halfway across, she slipped and consequently drowned. Nowadays, it is said that she hitchhikes in the area. After riding in the car for a while, she vanishes leaving a wet spot.

One stormy night a girl was walking by herself and some men came up and killed her.She was burryied in some rose cemetary it is said that if you are driving past the cemetary you will see a girl trying to get a ride.So she gets in the car once someone comes up and asks her if she wants a ride so after she gets in.She tells you a random address and after a couple blocks she then dissapears into thin air.So you are right about her riding in the car but she leaves no puddels no trace of any kind.

The ghost is that of a young woman (actually the girl friend of a prominent local bootlegger). During the summer of ( I believe) 1927, the couple attended a dance on a excursion boat that used to cruise around White Rock Lake.( then on the edge of the city). They had a fight and as soon as the boat made shore, the woman ran to the man’s car, got in, and drove off at a high speed. The roads around the lake were just gravel then, and where Lawther Drive now intersects Garland Road, she lost control of the car and it plunged into the lake where she drowned. The ghost manifests along Garland Road where it passes the lake. She is seen as a young woman in a dress, soaking wet. When a person stops, she seems quite real and asks to be taken to an address in the nearby Lakewood area. ( a very fashionable area both currently and in the 1920’s). During the ride she will disappear. She has been seen by numerous passersby, including police who have stopped to check on her welfare.
Research into her death has been inconclusive. Dallas PD records for the time are not complete and the incident may have been investigated by the Dallas Sheriff (due to its then semi-rural location). There is also the real possibility that due to a bootlegger being involved, it may well have been an incident that was kept as quiet as possible and simply listed, without fanfare, as a traffic accident.

Now as for the the ghost I do not know the whole story. But it was on unsolved mysteries alond time ago and I have heard this story from several people.
This is the funny thing some people have been there several time’s and not seen her. one person said he used to go out there all the time but has only seen her once. I am thinking about going out there but its a bad place to go alone.

As far as the lady goes; I’ve been told that story since I was a little girl. So have all the people in other cities and towns all over the country who have similar versions of the same urban legend. I am very much a believer in the supernatural (two ghosts in my last apartment), but this story is obviously not true.
The Flag Pole Hill story is another thing all together. NOT the same story as the Lady of the Lake. THAT one, I buy. Just driving past there on Northwest Highway gives me the heebee jeebees.
