Real Haunted House

The Lady of the Lake (a.k.a. The White Rock Lady)

Dallas, Texas

Soon after this lake was built in the 1920s, a girl was on her way home when she decided to cross the spillway to save time. Halfway across, she slipped and consequently drowned. Nowadays, it is said that she hitchhikes in the area. After riding in the car for a while, she vanishes leaving a wet spot.

I use to go there all the time when I was in high school. And I have seen and heard stories bout the lady of white rock lake. it’s even been on unexplained mysteries on tv. Stories such as saving a little girl from being drown and telling a boy on a bike to go home b/c something bad was about to happen. They say she isn’t there to hurt anyone but to help. i’ve this is the first i’ve heard about her hitching a ride. could it be the same ghost? Nothing usual has happened each time I visited although everyone I came with were aware of the stories and freaked out at every little thing that happened.

I live near there and I would not go there. Too many gangstas, homeless, mental cases and druggies hang out there all times of the day and night. Dallas and the cities around have alot of illegal aliens too, who come for construction and field work in the summer esp.
If you want to know spooky, and the details, there are several books on haunted places, and archives to prove them right or wrong.

We walked past the water tower an dmy mom told me that there were many murders at the tower then she told me that a girl was killed by drowning by the spillway. I was a little freaked out ,but I saw nothing. I would like to find out who she really was.

I have gone to see the lady of the lake.. I live in Dallas and have for many years. I have an interest in the non living so I planned to go there on Halloween with a group of my friends. We walked around most of the lask and most of the night. I had an EVP (picks up sounds of the other side) and other gadgets that we were playing with. I was pregnant at the time with a baby due 11/17. We didn’t really see anything while we were there but I did wish so we went home. I woke up that very next morning with my body in full toxitiy. What does that mean? I had too much water fluid in me nad had to be best rest until the water draining. After my dr came and did all the blood work he said that he didn’t know what caused that much water to come in me so suddently. I could only have guessed. I plan to go back. this time alone in homes that she will talk to me. I am a true beliver as she was there that night I could feel here there

ok if you want to see a real ghost picture go to google and type in USS Lexington. When you are at the right website,go to the thing that says ghostcam.they have a camera going that takes picture randomly. Once, they got a picture of a whole ghost he was a navy one.you can see this picture on the website. And oh by the way the ship the USS Lexington is proven to be the most haunted ship in the navy.

Does anyone know how to spell and use correct grammar anymore? I was reading through these posts, and it looks like a bunch of hillbillies with 2nd grade educations typed them. By the way, does anyone know of any other ghost stories in the Dallas area?

I lived in Dallas for a few years and never heard this story. I did hear on about a restaurant on Greenville Ave in Dallas that was haunted. Is it true that the restaurant was destroyed in a fire?

I Live in Dallas and have for many years. The area around the lake is dangerous due to drugs and pimps. There have been several people hurt and even killed in the park so if you due decide to go becareful.

Now as for the the ghost I do not know the whole story. But it was on unsolved mysteries alond time ago and I have heard this story from several people.
This is the funny thing some people have been there several time’s and not seen her. one person said he used to go out there all the time but has only seen her once. I am thinking about going out there but its a bad place to go alone.

I have heard off a spoker story just like that. There was a man who came to my school and was telling us spocky stories. He was telling us about a lady who had lost her boyfriend at White Rock Lake that he was drowing and the she drowned. That he was driving and gave a lift to the lady and that she was socking wet. THen he asked do you nedd help. She told him the adress and then he drove her there. Once they were there he turned around and she was gone and the only thing there was a wet mark. So he went up to the door and he told the people there about the girl who said she lived there. The 2 girls there said that that girl was the sister that diesd 2 years ago. So every full moon at white rock lake she would come out and her ghost whould walk on the lake and try to find her boyfriend.

This story is true. Honestly, a few months ago, a bunch of my friends and I were hanging out, doing anything a bunch of teenagers would. When we past by White Rock Lake. One of my friends suggested we get out of the car to see if the rumors about the lake were true. As we were walking we saw this girl looked about our age, alone. Glowing in her white dress. Stupidly, one of my friends went up to her. She asked what she was doing there, all alone, and suggested that she hang out with us and not look or feel so sad anymore. She nodded her head politely and followed us. After about an hour we were all going out to eat, we turned to ask her if she wanted to join and she had vanished. Gone, nothing left but her small, wet footprints.

Ok here are the facts. I am the lady of the lake and if you had seen some of the people who have picked me up over the years you would pee your pants and disappear too.

I live around the corner from White Rock Lake. The scariest thing in the area is the stupid night club/sports bar next door to me. I drive down Lawther at night all the time by myself. It’s peaceful. I also find it interesting that so many people have said what a “bad part of town” this is. I guess all these people in their million dollar homes just LOVE crime. Please.

As far as the lady goes; I’ve been told that story since I was a little girl. So have all the people in other cities and towns all over the country who have similar versions of the same urban legend. I am very much a believer in the supernatural (two ghosts in my last apartment), but this story is obviously not true.

The Flag Pole Hill story is another thing all together. NOT the same story as the Lady of the Lake. THAT one, I buy. Just driving past there on Northwest Highway gives me the heebee jeebees.
