Real Haunted House

The Lady of the Lake (a.k.a. The White Rock Lady)

Dallas, Texas

Soon after this lake was built in the 1920s, a girl was on her way home when she decided to cross the spillway to save time. Halfway across, she slipped and consequently drowned. Nowadays, it is said that she hitchhikes in the area. After riding in the car for a while, she vanishes leaving a wet spot.

My ex-mother in law who is now passed on was born in 1929 she told me of the story and claimed that it was very real, she said when she was in her 20′s she and some friends were boating on the lake when the lady in white appeard on the boat it scared her boyfriend so bad he fell over hitting his head and nearly drowned himself…she was not much of a story teller so i believe every word.

I’ve lived in Dallas forever and I always heard all the drowning, but a car that picked her up took her to her home and always disappeared when they got her home and knocked always a wet spot in the car.

No, it had nothing to do with a prom, it was in the 1920′s. She was getting married and when her soon to be husband got cold feet and ditched her at the alter, she was so upset the drowned herself. You can look it up in the archives and see what she looked like if you don’t believe and you can also read the whole report.
