Real Haunted House

The Red House

Artesia, California

In 1911, a man and his fiancee lived in this house. On the night before their wedding, the two got into a fight and the woman was pushed down the stairs; she died. The man then buried his would-be-bride behind the house. It is said that if one passes her grave, he will sometimes see the woman in a white grown floating around the area.

Ghost Hunter: wtf does it being a city that is heavily populated by hispanics have to do with any of this? Sometimes it is best to keep ones comments to themselves, especially when they are racist. Mainly because it does not make for a good argument. Please try again.

Ive never heard of this tale before, but if it is true, that is extremely screwed up. But anywho, I dont get into these little things as much as i do the Amityville Horror Story that took place in Amityville, Long Island, NY. My house is haunted i believe. Me and my little sister hear people running up and down the stairs all night longg. A Old woman died in our house but what old woman runs up and down that fast? Our house was once in the country when it was first built and was then moved into town. I think some little kid must have died or somthing took place from when it was in the country that makes him/her run up and down our stairs.

My father in law fell down the stairs at his own house just about 3 or 4 yrs ago and he broke his neck and died from it.So yes you can! I always felt that my ex did something to make him fall down the stairs and break his neck but yes he fell down the stairs and died from breaking his neck.

I remember hearing this story a long time ago. I remember reading that it was a red house next to the railroad tracks. In my friend’s neighborhood there was a red house at the end of the street that sat literally next to the tracks and I always assumed it was that house. That house was repainted gray about 15 years ago.

There is also a red brick house near the railroad tracks on Gridley, but that’s a newer house (I think it was built just in the last 20 years) so I doubt it’s that one.

I still think it’s the house in my friend’s old neighborhood that was repainted gray

It “was” located at 183rd and Gridley. It was eventually torn down. But, I did go to a large “Estate Sale” once with my Mom when we lived in Cerritos. It was red and it looked like a big red barn type house…and when I entered the house, it kinda gave me the creeps. I remember it had a black and white checkered tile floor in the huge Kitchen…all the dishes and kitchen ware was laid out…everything in the house was for sale. I’m so glad I didn’t purchase anything from that house! The house “felt” haunted…and I really couldn’t wait to leave it.
