Real Haunted Houses

Real Haunted House

The Rosino’s House

Long Island, New York

This house is said to be haunted by two different ghosts. One man appears to be the present owner’s father. He has allegedly been seen holding his great-granddaughter in an upstairs window. A grayish-smoke like figure has also been reported to pass through people in the home’s kitchen. As the basement was being renovated, an unexplained swastika was found built into the linoleum floor. There were also large amounts of very old ammunition located in the ceiling.

ok so im the great grand daughter that the story mentions. theres nothing much that goes on here now. and yes there were swastikas, guns, and money found in a secret compartment in the upstairs floor. the stories are true but nobody in my family can figure out how who ever put my house on this sight knew about that incident of my great grandpa. my crib room at the time was his room before he died. i saw him once when i was little but i dont think hes around anymore.

“what are swastika’s? weapons??” Are you kidding me?? A swastika is a hate symbol associated with the Nazi’s. You might want to brush up on some basic history.

Wait a minute, Marissa! How can your great-grangfather hold you if he’s dead? The story says that “he has allegedly been seen holding his great-granddaughter in an upstairs window”. Maybe they meant that he was holding a picture of his great-granddaughter. I don’t know! I’m confused!

First off, a good ghost story is a good ghost story whether it’s true or not. Trying to debunk a ghost story is what makes this interesting. Going to actual places that might be haunted is a thrill for some so why knock it? What if you do see something, now you know have proof for yourself?
If you don’t see anything then you try to go to the next place. Urban legends or local folklore have gone on for ages, why stop now?
As for the spelling mistakes, though I would like to read legible posts, is not like we are going for the bar at Harvard or Yale, you shouldn’t have to have a PHD to post on here.
With that being said I love the site.

OK all of you… These stories are true, and there are even things starting to happen here again. I have lived in this house for over 40 years, and I can tell you that my grand father WAS holding my daughter and 2 of my friends saw it from outside. I have no idea how any of this actually got on the internet because these were all unrelated incidents over a period of 6-8 years and were experienced by 5 or 6 different individuals who don’t actually know each other. The stuff we found in the house was when I was a little girl, so I really have no idea who even knows about that, at all! It’s really baffling to me that all of these incidents are here, but none of the more recent ones. Like the things right now that are happening on the third floor… noises, things moving and cold spots in my daughter’s room that move from place to place…shadows, etc… My cats seem to stare at things on the walls and the ceiling that when we look there is nothing there. Anyway, yes “beemis” (I know who you are, lol), you did stay here and nothing was really going on here then… yes it is in Lynbrook… yes we would be open to investigation if it is by professionals, not silly wanna-bes who just want to look around… no we don’t want people “touring” or “visiting”, because things don’t happen on cue, when you want them to. Like last night, I had to “chase” something out of my daughter’s room on the third floor. We think it may be related to her friend who died recently. It’s ok, though, because we have lived with this all of our lives, so it’s normal day-to-day stuff for us. No, it’s not scary, it’s just what happens here. The only one who is scared is my daughter who hasn’t had many things happen and really doesn’t like it happening in her room… it never really did that before, it was always down in the main house. Anyway, we are listed in the book and we screen our calls, so leave a message with your number and someone will call you back if you are serious. There are more than 1 Rosino in Lynbrook, so make sure you call the one on Washington Ave. We are open to discussion and investigation.

Why do people question what they don’t know…I have lived in a house with unexplained paranormal things going on and unless you experience it for yourself obviously you will question it. just because you haven’t gone through it don’t mean it don’t exist. if it didn’t exist then people wouldn’t be experiencing it and that’s why people keep it to themselves…and it seems that the people of this place didn’t even know that their place was on the internet and don’t care to have nonbelievers question them! So go on with your life and leave these people alone…its annoying to them and people that have actually have had unexplained things happen to them!

I used to never believe this stuff, but now i kinda do. in 2007 my grandfather passed away in my house, the next night i came upstairs because it sounded like someone was walking around and the rocking chair my grandfather used to always sit on was rocking, but everyone else in the house was sleeping. It spooked me out but at the same time made me smile because i was very close to my grandfather and it made me feel like he was still around……

I have been friends with the tenants of this house for over 30 years and have hung out in this house as a child. No nobody that lives there is nuts. I have held the tile that was found in the basement with the swastika on it and as a matter of fact I am sitting in said house right now. Not scared a bit.
