Real Haunted House

The Spaghetti Warehouse

Houston, Texas

This restaurant used to house furs and allegedly many murders occurred here as well. Many of the waiters who work at this establishment refuse to venture upstairs due to all the paranormal activity that takes place there.

I went to the Spaghetui Warehouse for the first time in Downtown Houston last Friday. I felt fine while we were eating on the second floor, but when I went to the rest room before that I had this really uneasy feeling. I kept hearing creaking noises and a bang. I was in there by myself. It wasn’t until we were eating that I found out from my boyfriend’s sister that the place was haunted after the former owner died in the elevator shaft. The large picture of some guy on the wall was scary as well. Don’t go there by yourself. The parking lot is in the back when it is really crowded. and there usually are alot of homeless people hanging around by the bayou river.

This might be long, but well worth reading it:
There is a woman (there may be more than just her) who is on the second floor and whose spirit is alive. My husband and I went there tonight, November 9th, and experienced something we’ve never experienced before, well at least this strong. The first thing I felt was in the downstairs bathroom. It was as if there was someone all around me, watching. I quickly went back to my table to finish eating and just shrugged off the feeling I had. However, after dinner, we walked up the stairs and my husband immediately headed for the left small dining room. The rest of us walked around looking at the old items on the floor, but he walked in there and the first thing he said into the dark was “I apologize for what is about to happen, don’t get upset.” He was referring to the fact that we were up there making a joke of it all like “oooo, it’s haunted” but it isn’t a joke. It is very much real and her presence was felt all around us. My brother felt her pass by when we stepped into the dark corner by the door in the small dining room. He didn’t believe in spirit hauntings, but he does now. My younger niece and one of her friends were running in the kitchen by the elevator basically mocking the whole situation. They were showing no respect for the spirit world and for the poor woman who is stuck there. But her other friend, would not go into the kitchen. She kept saying that the spirit was moving from the small dark corner where my husband, brother and I felt her, to the elevator in the kitchen where my niece was playing around. She said that we needed to leave, that the spirit was getting upset. Basically, we were disturbing the Spirit and her space.
It has now been about 2 hours since we left, and my husband is still shaken up. He had tears in his eyes and I asked him what was wrong. He said, “Karen, she was sad. The spirit was very sad.”
The crazy thing about all this is that neither one of us knew that this place was “haunted” let alone the story behind it. When we got there we found out from the cashier that there was haunted activity upstairs and we thought why not just go up and see. We had no idea it was true and so very strong. After what we just experienced and what I just read online regarding the old Warehouse haunting, there is no doubt that this place holds spirits. I just wish that this woman’s spirit who is sad and looking for her husband, can rest one day in peace.

Yes the warehouse is haunted and yes it is still open it was closed for remodling. Why is this the only place listed as haunted what about the old Jefferson Hospital? Well its haunted too, so is the Esperson building. I use to work there and at night you can here footsteps going down the hall and no one in sight. That is the spookiest place to be at night. Houston offers a lot of haunted places you just have to know where to look! Watch out! What’s behind you?

We just ate at the Spaghetti Warehouse in Houston for lunch on Travis heading up I-45 North. Just like Holly stated it used to be a pharmaceutical trade warehouse. An elderly man fell to his death through an open elevator shaft and broke his neck. They state that his wife at the time in the late 40’s was found dead in her house shortly after from grieving after him. They say that her spirit is in the house. I have been upstairs many times and like stated earlier there is a trolly car that you can dine in with four tables on each side. You can get a lunch special for about $5.50 which comes with a drink and salad. Like I stated I have eaten there many times and I have never seen anything happen. Nothing. The food stinks the parking lot to the west side has some major potholes the place has very old memoribilia which smells like dust. The place sucks but it is a houston monument. I did not know that much about the hauntings allegidely but this time they gave us a laminated sheet going on in detail. People can pay a rate to go on a paranormal tour. It is all a ridiculous myth.

Too top that off there was a sweet female waitress that waited on us and I asked her if it was BS. She said that she has been there for two years and nothing has happened to her out of the ordinary. When you walk in you have that tiny room and have to go to the right for that lobby. There is a bar on the left with a couple of pooltables. When you enter the main restaurant the large wooden stairs are to the right and turn to the right halfway up. Like I said nothing has happened.

I have been going to the Spaghetti Warehouse in Houston since childhood, and I’ve never seen anything, but did hear something unusual Mother’s Day dinner, 2 or 3 years ago. We were dining in the center of the room on the 1st floor when I started hearing this clicking like every few minutes or so, and I couldn’t figure out what the noise was until maybe hearing it 4 times. It sounded like those old timey cameras, the kind that make the faint whistle after the picture is taken. I looked all around us and didn’t see anyone taking pictures. Then I asked my daughters and husband if they heard that clicking, without saying what I thought the noise was they all said yes, and said they’ve been hearing it, and started looking around the room. My husband then stated, “Is someone taking pictures?” and I said “I don’t see anyone or even a flash”. We all looked around again and didn’t see anyhting, so we asked our waiter if someone is taking pictures somewhere in the restaurant and he said “No”. We got a little creeped out cause the noise kept on as we talked to the waiter, and asked him if he knew what that clicking noise was, he looked at us strangely and said he didn’t hear anything. I realize the restaurant was getting crowded for dinner at that time and it was getting noisy with conversation but I couln’t understand why he didn’t hear that! It was sorta lous and annoying. Anyway, we haven’t ate there since, even though it is my favorite italian food. I should have checked to see if they had an antique camera somewhere on display there, maybe it was haunted. lol Oh well, maybe next time I’ll check. :p

I’ve been to this restaraunt several times and have seen the alledged haunted dish cupboard. Let me tell you, the only thing scary about this place is the service!!

For some real ghost stuff check out the haunted tractor that ran over the mayor of Freeport,TX in Dec. 2006

The food is great, and the history behind it is truly fascinating. I remember the last time I visited the restaurant, I had to go to the ladies room upstairs. And when I was done, I felt something brush my shoulder. I got kinda chilly, and I thought it was just the A/C. So I put on my hoodie, but still felt very chilly, then it started getting really cold. I got really freaked out, and then I turned around and there was nothing there. I remember there being a very large portrait in the top floor about 12×10, and I get this really weird feeling everytime I look at it. I really don’t know why, but just try going and stare at it. It gives you the chills.

The Old Spaghetti Warehouse in downtown Houston is Haunted and I have the pictures to prove it. I am a sensitive and as soon as I went into the first room on the second floor I felt something strange. What happened next has never happened to me before. A guy next to me was taking pictures of some old signs on the wall and in the flash the signs disappeared and blood was running down the wall in their place. And there was plenty of it. But as soon as the flash was over everything returned to normal. This really freaked me out. So I asked a waitress what was behind that wall and she told me the kitchen. That is where a man fell to his death in the elevator shaft. They don’t let anyone back there because someone got hurt going back there to see the elevator. But because of what I saw she decided to take me back there. I took a picture of the elevator but didn’t get anything, but when I turned around a feeling so strong came over me and I took a picture. What I got was a vortex with something red in it and a man’s face. There was nothing red in front of me. When I showed the waitress the picture she told me that on the other side of that wall was where I saw the blood and recently they had a party in that room with a pretty flower arraigement on one of the tables. They took a picture of the arraigement and floating above it in a prone position was a woman that looked dead. Maybe that was her blood on the wall. I intend on returning sometime soon to see if I can catch anything else.

Lately i have been watching alot of scary movies containing stories of ghost and paranormal activity with my room mates. I found myself getting very interested in it and want to learn more so I researched haunted places in houston and found this. So on this upcoming weekend I suckered my boyfriend into taking me there. But the only catch is that he doesn’t know about the stories behind the resteraunt. He does not even belive in ghost. Hopefully a trip to The Old Spaghetti Warehouse will change his mind. If anyone has any suggestions of where we should go next please let me know…..hahaha!!!

The scariest part was the service. I went upstairs by myself, and the only thing that scared me, was a fat lady eating.
