Wow this kinda gives me chills. Last month we went on a trip there, a lot of people in the group wanted to go here for college. Hmm weird there was a student who was showing us around she didn't tell us anything about hauntings...

sigh...ok, first, Roll Tide. Second, can any some people please give a yay or nay about UA being haunted. I'm 19 and am wanting to go around the United States at haunted places. Starting with the south, hence I live in mobile. So, no twiddling thumbs here....is it haunted or not? And if so, what happens. Thanks for your help....and aubrun fans....yeah, Roll Tide.

Hey, we in Alabama can turn ANYTHING into a sports page. ROLL TIDE. As for the sightings, I am on campus nearly every day and have yet to see (or hear) anything. :-\ But I will be the first to say that a lot of the buildings are creepy as all get out. It's easy to see how the stories originate. VERY easy.

I live about an hour away from UNA. I had hopes to attend this fall. I've visited once, but now hearing these stories, I want to go again and listen harder. PS, Don't make fun of people from Alamabama. Not all of us are 'hicks'... Thank you.

I have heard the footsteps in Smith Hall. we were in the building around 3 am, before they put up the cameras and electronic locks. We walked from the left side wing of the building (if one is facing the front of the building from the outside, the left wing was often left unlocked) to the middle, above which is the museum. From there, we started into the right hand wing. We walked, and heard a very loud rythmic creaking that followed our footsteps. We thought it was our own walking causing the walls to creak, but this was directly above us. We signaled by hand to stop, and as we did, the footsteps continued walking above us, about 4 or 5 steps after we stopped. It could very well have been the building creaking, or it could have been a ghost. There were no lights on upstairs (you can see from the outside, and I've had classes up there, I know the layout) but one never knows.
