Dr Joseph Brown Ladd died in the 1786 when dualing was still going on. The two men were in disagreement over the talents of a young Shakespearean actress.
There is also the ghost of a little girl who was a member of a family named Savage who lived here in the 1830s.

their is a old church is called STRAWBERRY CHAPEL i live by is really old in it been locked down for many years now it has so much history to it but the church in cementary is hunted so is that road and my street to i had so many experience with ghost all my life

This house is not open for TOURS. It is a private residence. Yes, the tours will drive by and point it out. You can walk by the home. It is haunted. My husband has done repair work in the home. Has taken picture of the bedroom where the doctor died. The owner’s dog will try to get the “spirits” attention.

You leave readers guessing its not the best thing to do.You should at least have the reader amused or astanished by the story. But otherwise, it was a very good story.

This is a true story. Dr. Joesph Ladd Brown is his real name and is known here in Charleston SC as the Whislting Ghost of Charleston. I believe his residence is on Tradd ST. In the historical part of downtown Chas. The duel was over a women. You can look more into this on the web. He is believed to be a great Uncle of mine. My Grandmother on my Fathers side maiden nmae is Ladd. More info is available on the internet, just research Joesph Ladd Brown.

Okay, now this house is actually haunted. Charleston has a number of old mansions that are now open for the public, and also for private tours. This house happens to be one of them. Visitors get a tour of the house, and learn some of it’s history. I’ve been on the tour many times, and although nothing paranormal has happened to me, my little sister did belive that someone was tapping her shoulder when we were the only ones around.
