Train Tracks FM 157
The country roads of Ponder are extremely dark at night. Many years ago, a woman distraught about the upcoming birth of her child, decided to walk down the tracks. On these tracks, she and her unborn child perished. It is said that every Halloween, one can hear the screams as the young woman loses her life.

for all of those people out there whom are wondering about the kids on the school bus who help you to safety, it is all made up. there is no record of the accident and all of the tricks to get them to help you are fake. the baby powder shows your own finger prints. go to your car and do it right now and wait a few min. it will always show up. the second thing wrong with the story is that the hill actually goes down hill not up hill. it is an illusion.

I don’t know about the screaming woman on Halloween and I have lived there for the past 20 years. But, sometime about 1994 or 1995 one of the girls that had just graduated from Ponder was babysitting her niece. They decided to go into town and headed down Seaborne to 156. (This is before we had the rails over the crossings in Ponder). The care stalled on the tracks and she couldn’t get the car started. A train started coming and I guess she got panicked. She couldn’t get her niece out of the car. When the train was almost on them she threw herself over her niece trying to protect her. It didn’t work and they both died. I know this to be true as she was a friend of my sister-in-laws and they went to school together. The next few months we finally got the rails on the tracks. It’s too bad it took those two dieing to get them

I know a guy that died in a train vs semi truck wreck at the same location. I will stay away from that one. I have drove across that spot many times at night.

There is only 156 in Ponder Tx. I doubt that someone died while pregnant walking down the tracks. I have lived here for awhile and have never heard anything.

OK i have lived in the area within a 15 mile radius and the highway that runs through ponder that the tracks follow is 156 not 157. I love to investigate strange things, this is the first i have heard of this.I will look into it.

Y’all are funny. The bus crash NEVER Happened. This story is told all over the country at many RR crossings.
