Twin Towers
At the air force base, there are two abandoned grain towers. Inside one of them, there are animal bones. Drawn across the walls are pentacles and Satanic crosses. It is said that one may hear the howling of hell hounds—the Devil’s watch dogs. It is also reported that one may feel cold chills in the middle of summer and there is also an overwhelming feeling that someone is watching.
This place is actually in Arakansas the air force base isn’t even in missouri and the abandone hospital is actually creepier than the lame grain towers
Comment by KIM | 10.14.2005 | 5:46 pm
The abandoned hospital? How come I’ve never heard of this? The grain towers are out on Richards Gabeur AFB in a restricted area, which means you can’t just drive right up and see…it takes a little hiking to get there…Who wants to hear “Hell Hounds” anyway?
Comment by michael meyers | 10.25.2005 | 5:51 am
the base is in belton, i live about 6 miles from it. ive been by there at night and seen the two towers but have never gone in or close. it is blocked off so you do have to walk.

Ummm…not to mention the VERY bad grammar and word usage…NICE JOB! Also…maybe you need to try using some new adjectives and verbs…not to mention some new phrases altogether..WOW!

Kim,
shut up K, GET YOU FRIGGIN FACTS STRAIGHT MORON!. You are WRONG! and btw its ARKANSAS and it is NOT in ARKANSAS. The twin towers is located in Belton, Missouri on the Richards Gabeur Air Force Base. That is a restricted area, only RGAFB workers and associates are allowed there!.. Hey Kim, here’s an FYI, DO RESEARCH BEFORE COMING ON HERE SHOWING HOW MUCH AN *** YOU ARE!…
Suzy,
You have to contact someone from Richards Gabeur to get access, but I’ll tell you now like others said above, its a restricted area, *private property*. But if ya truely still want to go, must contact someone at Richards Gabeur AFB~Good Luck!
brittany,
Have you heard of http://www.mapquest.com for directions? or http://www.google.com to do search. Here, I’ll help you, IT IS LOCATED IN BELTON MISSOURI!…..
Trina,
Like I told brittany, do a http://www.google.com search or do a http://www.mapquest.com for directions

Hey girl in MO maybe you should look at what youre saying before you start bashing someone else, next time stop and make sure you have the right proverb before you use it to make yourself sound intelligent. You should also find something to do instead of bashing some girl you dont even know.

Ya the grain silos are not worth the hike through the field and tring to get across the creek. We saw paintings of pentacles and an upsidedown cross with a cresent moon above it. Also a naked woman and some beer cans. No hell hounds, creepiny feelings, or getting cold. Huge waste of time, though if you do climp to the top of the left tower, which takes some work, you can get a nice view of the base.
Comment by Jeff | 09.9.2006 | 4:34 am
actually everyone who thinks this is fake is wrong. I recently went to these silos and it was really freaky. You could here someone laughing and just being up next to the things made the hair on the back of your neck stand up. It was really freaky. We heard a lot of noises and decided to take off. there were a ton of drawings on and in them though like the swastika and people burning with flames around them. its just a really weird place.
Comment by Jessica | 09.11.2006 | 12:54 am
I don’t believe it, untill I go and see it for myself. If i get the chance I may go to see this to see what can happen. Trick or Treat.
Comment by nhuber | 09.15.2006 | 9:22 am
I have been to the Silos near the base a few times. I never thought of the graffiti on the silos to actually be from satanic rituals but rather some kids who wanted to do some weird graffiti, but who knows. Me and another guy have actually climbed to the top of both silos. Now the one without the ladder is tricky. It will leave your forearms with lots of scratches but is a fun accomplishment. I know of a lot of other fun climbs around the area but that’s another story

I am a member of a Special Operatons team in the U.S. Air Force that investigates claims of the paranormal around military facilities. I would like more information about the so called “Haunts” that you all are claiming is outside this military facility. My team and I are still in the area and would like to investigate this further. I need ligitimate claims from a third party like ghosthunter8 that can verify that there maybe something there before we come out.
Thanks

Hi guys I just wanted to say I live in Belton and have my entire life.Long time. There are tons of really scary stories from around here and some have even gotten me a few times. So as for this place I myself have not yet been there but I do believe there would be yet another place where satanic stuff took place. There is lots of places like that around these parts.

Randy,
If you Google “map: Richards Gabeur Air Force Base” you should be able to get within a close proximity. Although the Base has an actual mailing address, it takes up several acres, so a street address doesn’t necessarily apply. I live south of Belton, and the base is easily accessible, however, it is restricted, as others have stated. To go and investigate the towers would require getting proper authorization. I wouldn’t recommend sneaking in, because that could land you in jail. However, anyone from an actual investigative society may be able to gain permission. Happy hunting!
Comment by Para Curious | 01.17.2007 | 5:51 pm
This is the Richards Gebaur Air base it was decommioned in the mid to late 80’s and yes it is there. Trust me I lived in the town and have seen it and yes I have felt the demons brought out. It sits on the north west side of the base by the old shooting range side of the base in addtion it was believed that a woman abducted was taken there and a blood sacrifice occured in the 60’s I grew up on the base this is how I know
Comment by David | 02.27.2007 | 12:33 pm
David:
Thanks for finally getting the spelling of the base name correct. Its as you spelled it (Richards-Gebaur) just in case people are trying to Google or MapQuest it (the closest would be Belton, MO 64012). Easy enough to find–south 71 to the 155th St. exit. Turn right at the top of the ramp and go past the Belton Inn–that takes you directly onto the base. Although base has been decommisioned from active use it still houses Marine Corps detachments as well as the Army Reserves continuing to drill there, etc. I don’t know what kind of security there is since the base is now an “airport” of sorts, so I guess I’d warn people to be careful about nosing around without permission or knowing exactly where they’re going.
Now, I’ve lived in Harrisonville my entire life and have heard stories off and on, but have never been to the silos. My dad did several years of active AF reserve duty at Richards-Gebaur as well–he’s never mentioned anything from the past, but he’s not one to get into ghost stories or anything like that.
Anyways–thanks for getting the name right.
Comment by Julie | 03.17.2007 | 4:00 am
P.S
You can also get to Richards-Gebaur from 150 Highway. 71 South to the 150 West exit and turn right at the bottom of the ramp. You will go past Cotter & Co on your left and an aluminum recycling business on your right. Just after you cross the railroad tracks there is an entrance to the base on your left.
You can also take the directions from my earlier post, but turn left at the Belton Inn, which puts on you Scott. Follow Scott to Markey Rd., which isn’t too far. Turn right on Markey Rd. - this will also take you onto the base. From there I think you can still continue for a short distance on Markey or you can turn right on Kensington (I think I have the street name correct), which takes you past the Army Reserve Center, Marine Corps housing, PX, etc. and back toward the main part of the base.
Just remember–there is still some military presence there and the Belton Police do patrol the base regularly so anyone wanting to go out ghost hunting needs to be very aware of what they’re doing and where they’re going. Oh and don’t call me for bail money….HA!!!!!!
Good Luck!

I lived in Louisburg KS for over 5 yrs. My wife is from Belton MO. I can attest to the fact that there are satanic rituals going on in and around Belton Mo. So when you people come across these symbols and so forth, take them seriuosly and watch your backs! I had many a run in with satinist and so called witches and warlocks. These people are genuinley really evil crazy people. So everyone be careful in that area. I also know of the air base and have never heard of any hauntings there at all. Neither my wife, and she lived there until she graduated high school and we got married.

Comment by Emily W | 09.25.2007 | 5:13 pm
Okay–just to update the whole silo thing. Yep–they’re definitely still there. If you use the 150 Highway directions from my March 2007 post–you will drive right past them. They will be on your left and to be honest–I don’t even see a way to get to them and why would anyone bother anymore? They’re overgrown with all kinds of vines and brush everyplace. They’re easy to miss if you aren’t looking. If you decide to go out there–remember–if you get to the Marine Corps MOB-COM building (on the left) - you have gone to far.
P.S. One more word to the wise–the Marine Corps are moving personnel in and out pretty regularly right now and the Army Reserves are still actively drilling over on Kensington at the Reserve Center as well as the local police patrols. Do what you want, but hey–once you see what I’m talking about–its not all that and a bag of chips anyways.

Why in the “Sam Hell” would anyone want to go to that shithole area south of Kansas City? First of all it’s easy to find as posted above, so go forth ye ghost seekers and waste your time and remember it’s not free public access in all areas, so be prepared to have an intervention with the authorities. while your there snoop around and I bet you will find alot of biker rejects still lost in the 70’s. Hey…snap a pic of them and post it and I bet it will scare alot of people. Or better yet see if there are any haunted trailers around there. It is after all “Trailer Park Heaven”. Moral of my point is I have been there because I have a friend who owns a home on the base and it’s not exactly the nicest neighborhood I would want to live in. It’s an old military base that is decomissioned and all the houses look the same and there is still a significant military presence there!
Your better off investigating the old Union Cemetery by Crown Center in the south end of downtown Kansas City east of 27th and Main Street. Spend the night in there and your hair will be on end! Another good one is Elmwood Cemetery @ Truman Road & Van Brunt Blvd.
