Real Haunted Houses

Real Haunted House

Twin Towers

Belton, Missouri

At the air force base, there are two abandoned grain towers. Inside one of them, there are animal bones. Drawn across the walls are pentacles and Satanic crosses. It is said that one may hear the howling of hell houndsâ??the Devilâ??s watch dogs. It is also reported that one may feel cold chills in the middle of summer and there is also an overwhelming feeling that someone is watching.

This place is actually in Arakansas the air force base isn’t even in missouri and the abandone hospital is actually creepier than the lame grain towers

The abandoned hospital? How come I’ve never heard of this? The grain towers are out on Richards Gabeur AFB in a restricted area, which means you can’t just drive right up and see…it takes a little hiking to get there…Who wants to hear “Hell Hounds” anyway?

Ummm…not to mention the VERY bad grammar and word usage…NICE JOB! Also…maybe you need to try using some new adjectives and verbs…not to mention some new phrases altogether..WOW!

Kim,
shut up K, GET YOU FRIGGIN FACTS STRAIGHT MORON!. You are WRONG! and btw its ARKANSAS and it is NOT in ARKANSAS. The twin towers is located in Belton, Missouri on the Richards Gabeur Air Force Base. That is a restricted area, only RGAFB workers and associates are allowed there!.. Hey Kim, here’s an FYI, DO RESEARCH BEFORE COMING ON HERE SHOWING HOW MUCH AN *** YOU ARE!…

Suzy,
You have to contact someone from Richards Gabeur to get access, but I’ll tell you now like others said above, its a restricted area, *private property*. But if ya truely still want to go, must contact someone at Richards Gabeur AFB~Good Luck!

brittany,
Have you heard of http://www.mapquest.com for directions? or http://www.google.com to do search. Here, I’ll help you, IT IS LOCATED IN BELTON MISSOURI!…..

Trina,

Ya the grain silos are not worth the hike through the field and tring to get across the creek. We saw paintings of pentacles and an upsidedown cross with a cresent moon above it. Also a naked woman and some beer cans. No hell hounds, creepiny feelings, or getting cold. Huge waste of time, though if you do climp to the top of the left tower, which takes some work, you can get a nice view of the base.

Jessica says:

September 11, 2006, 12:54 am

actually everyone who thinks this is fake is wrong. I recently went to these silos and it was really freaky. You could here someone laughing and just being up next to the things made the hair on the back of your neck stand up. It was really freaky. We heard a lot of noises and decided to take off. there were a ton of drawings on and in them though like the swastika and people burning with flames around them. its just a really weird place.

nhuber says:

September 15, 2006, 9:22 am

I don’t believe it, untill I go and see it for myself. If i get the chance I may go to see this to see what can happen. Trick or Treat.

CBC says:

September 30, 2006, 11:45 am

I have been to the Silos near the base a few times. I never thought of the graffiti on the silos to actually be from satanic rituals but rather some kids who wanted to do some weird graffiti, but who knows. Me and another guy have actually climbed to the top of both silos. Now the one without the ladder is tricky. It will leave your forearms with lots of scratches but is a fun accomplishment. I know of a lot of other fun climbs around the area but that’s another story

I would like more information about the so called “Haunts” that you all are claiming is outside this military facility. My team and I are still in the area and would like to investigate this further. I need ligitimate claims from a third party like ghosthunter8 that can verify that there maybe something there before we come out.

So as for this place I myself have not yet been there but I do believe there would be yet another place where satanic stuff took place. There is lots of places like that around these parts.

Para Curious says:

January 17, 2007, 5:51 pm

Randy,

If you Google “map: Richards Gabeur Air Force Base” you should be able to get within a close proximity. Although the Base has an actual mailing address, it takes up several acres, so a street address doesn’t necessarily apply. I live south of Belton, and the base is easily accessible, however, it is restricted, as others have stated. To go and investigate the towers would require getting proper authorization. I wouldn’t recommend sneaking in, because that could land you in jail. However, anyone from an actual investigative society may be able to gain permission. Happy hunting!

David says:

February 27, 2007, 12:33 pm

This is the Richards Gebaur Air base it was decommioned in the mid to late 80’s and yes it is there. Trust me I lived in the town and have seen it and yes I have felt the demons brought out. It sits on the north west side of the base by the old shooting range side of the base in addtion it was believed that a woman abducted was taken there and a blood sacrifice occured in the 60’s I grew up on the base this is how I know

Julie says:

March 17, 2007, 4:00 am

David:
Thanks for finally getting the spelling of the base name correct. Its as you spelled it (Richards-Gebaur) just in case people are trying to Google or MapQuest it (the closest would be Belton, MO 64012). Easy enough to find–south 71 to the 155th St. exit. Turn right at the top of the ramp and go past the Belton Inn–that takes you directly onto the base. Although base has been decommisioned from active use it still houses Marine Corps detachments as well as the Army Reserves continuing to drill there, etc. I don’t know what kind of security there is since the base is now an “airport” of sorts, so I guess I’d warn people to be careful about nosing around without permission or knowing exactly where they’re going.
Now, I’ve lived in Harrisonville my entire life and have heard stories off and on, but have never been to the silos. My dad did several years of active AF reserve duty at Richards-Gebaur as well–he’s never mentioned anything from the past, but he’s not one to get into ghost stories or anything like that.
Anyways–thanks for getting the name right.

Julie says:

March 17, 2007, 4:14 am

P.S
You can also get to Richards-Gebaur from 150 Highway. 71 South to the 150 West exit and turn right at the bottom of the ramp. You will go past Cotter & Co on your left and an aluminum recycling business on your right. Just after you cross the railroad tracks there is an entrance to the base on your left.
You can also take the directions from my earlier post, but turn left at the Belton Inn, which puts on you Scott. Follow Scott to Markey Rd., which isn’t too far. Turn right on Markey Rd. – this will also take you onto the base. From there I think you can still continue for a short distance on Markey or you can turn right on Kensington (I think I have the street name correct), which takes you past the Army Reserve Center, Marine Corps housing, PX, etc. and back toward the main part of the base.
Just remember–there is still some military presence there and the Belton Police do patrol the base regularly so anyone wanting to go out ghost hunting needs to be very aware of what they’re doing and where they’re going. Oh and don’t call me for bail money….HA!!!!!!
Good Luck!

I lived in Louisburg KS for over 5 yrs. My wife is from Belton MO. I can attest to the fact that there are satanic rituals going on in and around Belton Mo. So when you people come across these symbols and so forth, take them seriuosly and watch your backs! I had many a run in with satinist and so called witches and warlocks. These people are genuinley really evil crazy people. So everyone be careful in that area. I also know of the air base and have never heard of any hauntings there at all. Neither my wife, and she lived there until she graduated high school and we got married.

Julie says:

September 26, 2007, 1:01 am

Okay–just to update the whole silo thing. Yep–they’re definitely still there. If you use the 150 Highway directions from my March 2007 post–you will drive right past them. They will be on your left and to be honest–I don’t even see a way to get to them and why would anyone bother anymore? They’re overgrown with all kinds of vines and brush everyplace. They’re easy to miss if you aren’t looking. If you decide to go out there–remember–if you get to the Marine Corps MOB-COM building (on the left) – you have gone to far.
P.S. One more word to the wise–the Marine Corps are moving personnel in and out pretty regularly right now and the Army Reserves are still actively drilling over on Kensington at the Reserve Center as well as the local police patrols. Do what you want, but hey–once you see what I’m talking about–its not all that and a bag of chips anyways.

Why in the “Sam Hell” would anyone want to go to that shithole area south of Kansas City? First of all it’s easy to find as posted above, so go forth ye ghost seekers and waste your time and remember it’s not free public access in all areas, so be prepared to have an intervention with the authorities. while your there snoop around and I bet you will find alot of biker rejects still lost in the 70’s. Hey…snap a pic of them and post it and I bet it will scare alot of people. Or better yet see if there are any haunted trailers around there. It is after all “Trailer Park Heaven”. Moral of my point is I have been there because I have a friend who owns a home on the base and it’s not exactly the nicest neighborhood I would want to live in. It’s an old military base that is decomissioned and all the houses look the same and there is still a significant military presence there!
Your better off investigating the old Union Cemetery by Crown Center in the south end of downtown Kansas City east of 27th and Main Street. Spend the night in there and your hair will be on end! Another good one is Elmwood Cemetery @ Truman Road & Van Brunt Blvd.

Ryan- while there are a lot of trailer Parks in Belton, it is a fairly nice town. MANY parts of Kansas City are in a lot worse shape.
Plus, almost all the trailer parks are on North Scott anyway.
As far as the Silos go, I wouldn’t say they were haunted, but they are pretty creepy. That could also do with the fact that you aren’t supposed to be there…
I know kids who go ride Fourwheelers and Dirtbikes over there all the time, so I’m sure no one will get caught it people on motorized vehicles aren’t

I just happen to run across this blog about these silos and I need to share a story with anyone trying to seek this place out. Please be warned donâ??t go there. I am a former student from an electronics school that used to be located near the place you talk about. I took evening classes and me and two friends used to have a few beers time to time after class from our coolers after class in the parking lot. About three months before graduation, I think it was September or October of 2005 me and my friends Mike and Darren were having a few beers after class. Darren always talked about going to check out the silos and that night sort of on a dare he did so by himself. As he started to walk into the field me and Mike told him we were going to Quick Trip, a near by convenience store to grab a bite to eat. I thought by doing so Darren would want to go with us as we had many times before but he continued his way to the silos. Mike and me were gone about 20 minutes and had brought back Darrenâ??s favorite burrito, the Bomb with green chilies. He had not returned when we came back and after 30 minutes or so decided to go find him. Both Mike and me expected him to jump out and try to scare us. Well he did scare us, not exactly how we thought he would. Mike was yelling at me to come to were he was so I made my way over to were I saw his light shining, about 100 yards south of the silos. There was Darren curled up in the fetal position shaking and mumbling. We had to call for help; he never did come around. They did tests on him at KU medical center to look for signs of stroke or possible aneurysm and found nothing. The last time I contacted his parents about a year ago there has been no change. He is like a vegetable, nothing there. So my story being shared I plead with you if you must check this place out do so in the daytime or as a group. I donâ??t know what happened to Darren that night but I donâ??t think heâ??ll ever be the same.

one.who.believes says:

September 13, 2008, 4:42 am

There are alot of places in the United States that are haunted. I believe so because i am sensative like magnet in other words to paranormal activity. And sometimes it sucks, but other times it helps. Now this Air Force base i have been to and lived on and i have been to the grain towers. I could not step within five to ten feet of either one of them do to the activity that surrounds them. My grandfather is retired Air Force and has been stationed all around the world and he has told me over the course of my life that not even him and his buddies would go near it its that bad. I fully agree with brian if your going to go and investigate plz for your sanity and mental health do it during the day or in a group. That is nopt something you want to happen if your by yourself because you will have no way of contacting anybody for help. So be advised and warned “ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK” If you are a true believer pray before you go that you will be protected, we do not want anyone else hurt like Darren. my thoughts and condolences are with him and his family and friends….. And people please watch your language on here? Thank you….

I have lived in Belton for 38 years. The towers your referring to are on Richard’s Gebaur Airbase. I do know that the area is restricted,so you will need to contact the airbase. They have a office on base, you can get on the base. There is a homeless man named walking Jim and several others that have lived in the towers, they go in at night.

Kaz says:

My brother and his family live in Belton MO in a haunted home. The house is over 170 years old and boasts an impressive history. Many years ago, the children saw ghosts of confederate soldiers, music would play randomly but you could not make out where it was coming from and and unexplained shadows appeared outside of the house. Since they made changes to the structure of the house the unexplained happenings have diminished but there is still an uneasy feeling there.

I have heard about the towers at Richards Gebaur and other satanic stories from rural Belton and Stilwell on the Kansas side (Belton borders the State line). I used to live in Stilwell and after we purchased our home a couple visited us one day to tell us they were previous tenants. They said the house was haunted and devil worshippers had lived there. We had planned to rebuild the house as it was uninhabitable, so it was demolished and a new beautiful home was built – we never experienced anything paranormal. We had other relatives that lived on an adjacent property in an older home. We once slept there in a basement room and my husband and I both heard a baby crying – a newborn cry. We had no newborns in the family, so we asked the relative and they said they hear it all the time. No one could make out where the sound is coming from.

There are many stories about people in dark robes dancing around fires in rural Belton and Stilwell but they are probably just local legends that developed over the years. There is so much local history in this area – the Santa Fe Trail runs through Stilwell and most of the town used to be the Blackbob Indian Reservation and the Shawnee Indian Mission. There are bound to be some ghosts lingering…..

I found it on Google maps, and the silos are still visible but it looks like all the side roads, the good ones, are gone or blocked. It is about 1000 ft from Hwy 71 to the west and straight south about 1500ft from 150 hwy. Funny, I used to patrol that area about 6 years ago and never new it was there. It looks like the best way to get to it from the east, off of 71. There are several parking lots to park in which are public but you’ll need to cross the rail road tracks on foot and hike about 1000ft or so. Once you pass the 2 ponds you should be getting close, they are by themselves in a very open section of land.

Pianokeys says:

January 18, 2010, 6:56 pm

Ok I found a way in…go down to E.155th St from 71 hwy. Turn west and about 250ft or so is an old blocked off road. It is called N.Scott ave and it looks like one of the concrete barracades has been set aside enough to drive down the road. I don’t know how over grown the area is but the road dead ends a ways down. You’ll need to hike N.W. about 2500ft to get to it. It will be a hike so prepare to be tired. I also suggest going mid year to allow the over growth on Scott St to help hide the vehicle(s).

Katrina says:

April 12, 2010, 6:05 pm

Trina, it’s off the 155th street exit on south 71 Hwy. That’s the best info I could give you. My co-worker seems to belive Kara Kopetsky went missing out that way. I don’t know. I never stayed longer than I had to!

Mackensie Roberts says:

I was hoping that this would not be like so many other sites. I have only read two stories and the comments and I am going to leave this site and probably;ly never come back. IF you are serious and have seen these things good…if not then just keep your mouth shut and 10 inches with a whatever you said that is not scary or even funny. The truth is that there are lots of places in Missouri that are haunted many more than are listed here and the places are truly full of some kind of extra ordinary things. I live in the SE part of Missouri and I have seen several real things here in different towns. IF you do not know what you are talking about just shut up and that will help everyone. As far as Satanic stuff goes there are real Satan worshipers and these are people who are true their belief. These people are not some kind of people who are looking for a thrill and leave behind ultra offensive trails. They are people who like Wiccans are worship their beliefs clean up the signs of their worship and sometimes never use the same place twice for worship sometimes they do and if they are interrupted they will politely inform the ones interrupting to leave them alone until they are finished with their ritual. Some faiths in Christianity and Judaism for that fact still use animal sacrifices which is against the law in most states but they are doing their form of worship as they have had it passed on to them. Satan worshipers are not evil people necessarily but they do have the right to worship as they do because this is the US where there is the freedom of religion. So I have had my say and all of you who think it is fine to use offensive language and to act like so many have in the posts I have read good luck in your pathetic lives..you have a lot to learn to the ones who are truly dedicated to the paranormal worlds there is a lot of activity in this area. Come visit and you will be amazed Most of the pathetic ones here do not know even basic history the Trail of Tears Native American forced migration went through Missouri as well as many other states and many things happened along this trail of Human suffering. The US Civil war (in case pathetic ones do not know that there are many civil wars around the world) the state of Missouri was a torn state and many battles happened within this state creating many things that are unusual. Plus there were slave holders as well as those dedicated to saving slaves with the underground railroad. So Pathetic Ones learn some history and some geography and then maybe you won’t be so STUPID.Old lady full of spells

Travis Bellotti says:

June 7, 2010, 4:41 pm

I have some real issues of individuals not giving accurate information. The previous person stated, “Some faiths in Christianity and Judaism for that fact still use animal sacrifices which is against the law in most states but they are doing their form of worship as they have had it passed on to them.” I live in Belton and I am a Jew. In Judaism, animal sacrifices stopped in 70 A.D when the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem was destroyed by the Romans. No Jew would offer sacrifices these days and even if they did it could not be done because Jewish Sacrifices were only done at the Temple in Jerusalem. Once animal sacrifices stopped, prayer took its place. Please get facts correct before posting. There are no Christian denominations that practice animal sacrifices that I know of. Most Jews and Christians would consider animal sacrifices offensive.

This kind of stuff scares the **** out of me. Although i don’t really think there is much to be scared of, if one opens the door to things like that in their life then there can arise problems.

Hmmm… lived here in Belton my whole life. Yes, there are two abandoned grain silos on RG. Having lived here, and having been going into a Marine corps reserve unit here, and my ex-fiance is IN a reserve marine corps unit here, I’ve been there. There’s several stories behind these two odd placed towers. There’s the stories of the “hell hounds”, of satanic rituals, and of animals bones there. The story that’s I’ve always been told originally is that a young boy that lived in Cimarron Trails (old base housing, I believe as that’s where my parents lived when they were active duty), used to wake up screaming in the night that he saw the silos on fire. Then he saw the whole town on fire, drove him insane. Anywho, the occurances that I’ve witnessed firsthand was strange smells, always a freshly burnt out fire in one, sounds of people/things walking around in the brush, and the sense of a presence watching you. My group and I have NOT however gotten any hard evidence yet as we didn’t have the equipment at the time (I was in high school and my ex was fresh out of training). And we have never seen or heard any evidence of a demonic being such as hell houds out there. The graffiti looked like it was put there possibly for a ritual, but more than likely with how it was done, it was done by teens to fuel the satanic ritual rumor. If there have been any rituals or such actually documented in the KC area, I would love for those links as it could broaden my groups’ searchings and investigations (danikande@techie.com). And for the comments made about satanic rituals happening all the time in Belton, I happen to find that slightly offensive. I am a “witch”, using the common term. An occultist, and following close to the wiccan religion. That’s not devil worshiping. Not all “spells” are evil, please, if ya’ll don’t know anything about it don’t make comments. Delt with that enough in high school when closeminded people thought I was a devil worshipper because I didn’t believe in “God”. On that happy note, happy hunting to any an all that go investigating! ^.^

Ok so first of all.. Its not restricted.. lol If it was me and my friends wouldn’d of been able to go to them.. I have been on top of one of the cilos.. The only thing I “experienced” was the sound of barking dogs which turned out to be a stray.. So if this place scares you then theres something wrong with you! Im not being mean but truth hurts sometimes! If anyone knows of somewhere thats actually gonna ‘scare’ me please let me know!!

i went to high school in belton, and I actually stumbled into this area on foot with 2 friends to smoke weed, im not shy i was in high school. we were basically exploring the site to see what it was used for. we were not interested in ghost at the time. though when we were leaving my car keys were gone from my pocket, and strange enough we walked back to the site from the car, and we walked straight to my keys. we didnt search for them at all, it was almost like i knew where they were, but i didnt. and one other note, this is in kansas city. this used to be belton, but KC annexed the land because of the air base, and the railroad system that runs through there. i never went inside the silo’s as they did not interest us. Now that i know about these stories, i will take my digital camera, which has a thermal setting and i will try to capture something from the roadway.

Ok so I went to these last night. There is no fence around them, there is only a fence around the missile silos across the creek. Anyways there is nothing haunted about these at all. They are located in the field behind the old college which I must say was more fun than the silos. They have some spray paint on them and you can see where someone had made a fire in it at one time. If you want a good scare go to the college.

It’s not a hospital. It was a pinaccle career institute. and yes it is much more scary than the grain towers but they are both on the base in richard’s gabauer.

Yes it’s in MO. Yes KC bought the land. But in my personal opinion, the scare was NOT the silos but the housing I grew up in on the “base”. I lived there for almost my entire childhood. They’ve torn down a lot of the old housing but the duplex I grew up on Nellis still remains. Want to talk about creepy…that place would be it. But good luck trying to get in those :-).
To those of you trying to find ghosts…happy hunting.

I have been in the twin towers and it is pretty scary especially at night where on several occasions we have heard voices, and saw shadows. You get a bone chilling feeling that you are being watched. I do have some recordings of when we were out there and you can hear screams.

This place is legit. We didn’t hear the barking noises but we saw various cloaked figures. I don’t normally believe in this stuff but this place scared me enough to never come back.

I walked there today with my friends nicole and stood between them and looked inside. Nothing happened. we did feel watched and we thought we heard a third pair of footsteps when we were walking back. But last summer, my friends did wiji board in there. my friends simone started staring at everyone and started speaking in tongue. she kept telling Brea, “they want you” they all darted out of there and simone stopped in the middle of the field and starred at the sky. When she finally snapped out of it, she remembered nothing. she’s the type of girl who can’t take anything seriously because she laughs too much. but she was completely serious and didn’t even smirk a smile. everynow and then shell wake up in the middle of the night with her back doors open even after the have been locked. thats it. nothing more.

Try to come out and see the towers. In the winter months they are easily spotted due to the leaves being barren. Now with the nice walk that you will take make sure that you take water. Also take a camera and piece of paper to roll into a cone. Place the cone in the direction of the TOWER’s and listen for the errie sounds. Best done during November to March. Less foilage is around so the sunds are amplified.

Actually, you’re probably hearing the howls of the dead animals. Hell hounds would hardly bother with the human world unless you’re some idiot delving where you don’t belong.

Been there many times. We saw nothing and heard nothing. There are signs of either kids doing “rituals” and graffiti. Not much else. Looks more like a place for people to party.

I’ve been there it is not freaky, but yo can hear whistling. there is a military base and an abandoned school. Go to the school has satanic writing and on certain walls it has the satanic star and says, “I never wanna grow up,” in scratched out writing. The bottom floor is waterlogged and there is a strange machine in the back room. Check it the **** out.
