Twin Towers
At the air force base, there are two abandoned grain towers. Inside one of them, there are animal bones. Drawn across the walls are pentacles and Satanic crosses. It is said that one may hear the howling of hell hounds—the Devil’s watch dogs. It is also reported that one may feel cold chills in the middle of summer and there is also an overwhelming feeling that someone is watching.

Why in the “Sam Hell” would anyone want to go to that shithole area south of Kansas City? First of all it’s easy to find as posted above, so go forth ye ghost seekers and waste your time and remember it’s not free public access in all areas, so be prepared to have an intervention with the authorities. while your there snoop around and I bet you will find alot of biker rejects still lost in the 70’s. Hey…snap a pic of them and post it and I bet it will scare alot of people. Or better yet see if there are any haunted trailers around there. It is after all “Trailer Park Heaven”. Moral of my point is I have been there because I have a friend who owns a home on the base and it’s not exactly the nicest neighborhood I would want to live in. It’s an old military base that is decomissioned and all the houses look the same and there is still a significant military presence there!
Your better off investigating the old Union Cemetery by Crown Center in the south end of downtown Kansas City east of 27th and Main Street. Spend the night in there and your hair will be on end! Another good one is Elmwood Cemetery @ Truman Road & Van Brunt Blvd.

Ryan- while there are a lot of trailer Parks in Belton, it is a fairly nice town. MANY parts of Kansas City are in a lot worse shape.
Plus, almost all the trailer parks are on North Scott anyway.
As far as the Silos go, I wouldn’t say they were haunted, but they are pretty creepy. That could also do with the fact that you aren’t supposed to be there…
I know kids who go ride Fourwheelers and Dirtbikes over there all the time, so I’m sure no one will get caught it people on motorized vehicles aren’t

I just happen to run across this blog about these silos and I need to share a story with anyone trying to seek this place out. Please be warned don’t go there. I am a former student from an electronics school that used to be located near the place you talk about. I took evening classes and me and two friends used to have a few beers time to time after class from our coolers after class in the parking lot. About three months before graduation, I think it was September or October of 2005 me and my friends Mike and Darren were having a few beers after class. Darren always talked about going to check out the silos and that night sort of on a dare he did so by himself. As he started to walk into the field me and Mike told him we were going to Quick Trip, a near by convenience store to grab a bite to eat. I thought by doing so Darren would want to go with us as we had many times before but he continued his way to the silos. Mike and me were gone about 20 minutes and had brought back Darren’s favorite burrito, the Bomb with green chilies. He had not returned when we came back and after 30 minutes or so decided to go find him. Both Mike and me expected him to jump out and try to scare us. Well he did scare us, not exactly how we thought he would. Mike was yelling at me to come to were he was so I made my way over to were I saw his light shining, about 100 yards south of the silos. There was Darren curled up in the fetal position shaking and mumbling. We had to call for help; he never did come around. They did tests on him at KU medical center to look for signs of stroke or possible aneurysm and found nothing. The last time I contacted his parents about a year ago there has been no change. He is like a vegetable, nothing there. So my story being shared I plead with you if you must check this place out do so in the daytime or as a group. I don’t know what happened to Darren that night but I don’t think he’ll ever be the same.

There are alot of places in the United States that are haunted. I believe so because i am sensative like magnet in other words to paranormal activity. And sometimes it sucks, but other times it helps. Now this Air Force base i have been to and lived on and i have been to the grain towers. I could not step within five to ten feet of either one of them do to the activity that surrounds them. My grandfather is retired Air Force and has been stationed all around the world and he has told me over the course of my life that not even him and his buddies would go near it its that bad. I fully agree with brian if your going to go and investigate plz for your sanity and mental health do it during the day or in a group. That is nopt something you want to happen if your by yourself because you will have no way of contacting anybody for help. So be advised and warned “ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK” If you are a true believer pray before you go that you will be protected, we do not want anyone else hurt like Darren. my thoughts and condolences are with him and his family and friends….. And people please watch your language on here? Thank you….

I have lived in Belton for 38 years. The towers your referring to are on Richard’s Gebaur Airbase. I do know that the area is restricted,so you will need to contact the airbase. They have a office on base, you can get on the base. There is a homeless man named walking Jim and several others that have lived in the towers, they go in at night.

Last Tuesday, me and my fellow dudes, Brad and Twill, went on a ghost hunt to what is called the Twin Towers of Belton, Missouri. We drove out there going Brad’s long *** way there. When we got to Belton we actually had no idea where it was because the directions we followed from the website were ****** and outdated. So we drove around forever, camcorder in hand, looking for the place. After a long search, and when we were about to give up, we slowly drove by an area and Twill spotted the towers. We pulled into a dark, vacant, overgrown parking lot that had been apart of the old Richards Gebauer Air Force Base and parked. The towers were located across a long stretch of open field that was also overgrown. We walked towards it and every step closer I was getting chills, mostly from anxiousness, but admittedly it had me pretty freaked out too. It was dark and the towers (which are old grain silos, btw) were just visible by the moonlight, the faint light from our video camera and occasional flash of my camera. We got to the side of the towers and could not find a clear path to walk in. So we headed to the other side and found a way up the middle. The path was still obstructed by thorny *** trees. As we drew closer, suddenly the light from our digital camcorder had shut off. We realized that we had no other light source at all and that kinda freaked us all the **** out. Twill then had me reset the light by turning it off and turning it back on. Maybe nothing.. but come on, that’s the **** that happens in movies when they are in dark, freaky *** places. We moved in closer and we started seeing the markings on the outside of the grain towers. These were not signs of the devil, but someone had spray painted a ***** on the outside of one. We got closer and closer to the opening and I started getting a little more freaked. Since Twill had the camcorder we pushed him ahead and with jerky, sudden movements he quickly shined the camcorder’s light in each opening looking inside. The first tower had a chair inside of it and a mess of beer cups and what looked like trash others had burned to camp out inside. The chair was pretty freaky to see, would have been even freakier if someone had been sitting in it though. There were other markings on the insides of the towers, but just signs that said “**** You” and something about someone loving someone else, a middle finger and a swastika. The biggest thrill of the night we got was we decided to turn all the lights off and see what happened. I turned around for one second and felt something creeping up the bottom part of my leg. I freaked the **** out and jumped up screaming to find out it was just my jerk *** friend Brad who decided he would be hilarious. We got the most of it all on video and it was pretty hilarious atleast. We all climbed in each of the towers and walked around, but never heard nor saw anything other than the initial light going off of the camcorder. We weren’t there long, but we didn’t have any beer either, so it was go time. There are pictures that we took where in some of them it appears to be what people call ghost orbs, but I feel it is just the flash bouncing off dust particles in the area. YOU BE THE JUDGE! Pictures are here: http://www.jonmossie.com/photos/i-aint-afraid-of-no-ghosts-ya-i-am/

So I had been searchin for some places to go on Halloween to see something of the spiritial likeness, and rather than go to a place that has people jumping out with masks on (which I usually stop and talk to and they wonder why I’m not scared), I decided that I wanted the real thing this year. Last year I went to The Beast and Edge of Hell, 2 Haunted house put on my a company in 2 locations in down town Kansas City, MO. It was pretty good, the acting was very well done, and considering I was the only guy out of 5 girls and i was single may have been a perk lol. But seeings how I am big on Halloween, the girls thought it would be my job to find what we were doing this year. Now, reading the things you guys have posted I decided that Belton would be a good place to experience this. I live right next to Whiteman AFB, so base id’s were covered, as did the girls that were with me this time did as well. So we had the place we were going, we got lost a lot of the way there (probably the best part of the whole trip lol just laughing and joking the whole time). We drove around looking for these towers. Well we drove around the whole base, about ready to give up, when in a foggy distance I spotted the 2 towers from the back seat. We drove up in the round about parking lot, seeing 2 guys and there dog, scared the **** out of the girls, so bad that the girl driving threw the car in reverse! We drove up, asked some quick questions about the towers and shortly they left. I convenced one of the girls to tag along with me after reading Brians blog I knew I wasn’t going alone, that was for sure. I was going to video tape it but my cam corder was dead, so I took pics instead. Probably not as good. Now, there is a field between the towers and the parking lot so it is a little hike, but nothing bad. We got about 50 feet from the towers and I started to get a headache, the girl that was with me said I turned mean, but I didnt notice. I thought I saw someone walk in the right tower but I wasnt sure, and I didnt wanna frighten the girl that was with me. I also thought I saw someone standing on the tower, but I was unsure of that too. It was foggy as all hell and I could have been letting my imagination take hold. Besides that I didnt see anything else. I know it was so creepy the girl that had come this far with me wouldnt go any further, and I wasnt goin in alone. It was a good Halloween experience for the most part. I can say, the whole time we were out there it felt like eyes were watching us from the base as well as the towers or the field around us. Maybe it was just us, but all I can say is if you do go, go in a group of 6 or more people with flash lights and cameras. Even if nothing turns out, the pics alone will scare you. And when you first pull in in the lot there is a building beside the parking lot that is creepy as **** too. Not sure of what it was but took pics of it as well. Im sensative to supernatural things too and this is one of those places that throws it into high gear. If you do go have fun, but take a group, please. Something is out there, unsure of what it is, but if the base (The US Military) is watching it (after saying there is no such things as aliens, big foot, ghost, etc.) then believe there is something there. For those of you that think there isnt your, close mind. Havent you ever been alone and thought you were being watched, or shut a door, walked out of the room, and walked back in and seen it open? Ghosts, no such things; spirits, demonds, angels; bet your *** that there are these things. Trust me I have seen spirits before and things of that matter. And when I say there is something up with this place, especially if any Devil worshiping went on here, believe that some evil still lurks here. Heed the warning, go to have a good time, just know that if you do see something dont run, pray, usually nothing will hurt you; dont go alone; pray before you go in and come out; be open minded, if you thing you wont see anything chances are you wont because you wont let yourself; and speak in a calm voice at all times. Have fun finding what ever you are searching for, but be safe as well.

My brother and his family live in Belton MO in a haunted home. The house is over 170 years old and boasts an impressive history. Many years ago, the children saw ghosts of confederate soldiers, music would play randomly but you could not make out where it was coming from and and unexplained shadows appeared outside of the house. Since they made changes to the structure of the house the unexplained happenings have diminished but there is still an uneasy feeling there.
I have heard about the towers at Richards Gebaur and other satanic stories from rural Belton and Stilwell on the Kansas side (Belton borders the State line). I used to live in Stilwell and after we purchased our home a couple visited us one day to tell us they were previous tenants. They said the house was haunted and devil worshippers had lived there. We had planned to rebuild the house as it was uninhabitable, so it was demolished and a new beautiful home was built – we never experienced anything paranormal. We had other relatives that lived on an adjacent property in an older home. We once slept there in a basement room and my husband and I both heard a baby crying – a newborn cry. We had no newborns in the family, so we asked the relative and they said they hear it all the time. No one could make out where the sound is coming from.
There are many stories about people in dark robes dancing around fires in rural Belton and Stilwell but they are probably just local legends that developed over the years. There is so much local history in this area – the Santa Fe Trail runs through Stilwell and most of the town used to be the Blackbob Indian Reservation and the Shawnee Indian Mission. There are bound to be some ghosts lingering…..

I found it on Google maps, and the silos are still visible but it looks like all the side roads, the good ones, are gone or blocked. It is about 1000 ft from Hwy 71 to the west and straight south about 1500ft from 150 hwy. Funny, I used to patrol that area about 6 years ago and never new it was there. It looks like the best way to get to it from the east, off of 71. There are several parking lots to park in which are public but you’ll need to cross the rail road tracks on foot and hike about 1000ft or so. Once you pass the 2 ponds you should be getting close, they are by themselves in a very open section of land.

Ok I found a way in…go down to E.155th St from 71 hwy. Turn west and about 250ft or so is an old blocked off road. It is called N.Scott ave and it looks like one of the concrete barracades has been set aside enough to drive down the road. I don’t know how over grown the area is but the road dead ends a ways down. You’ll need to hike N.W. about 2500ft to get to it. It will be a hike so prepare to be tired. I also suggest going mid year to allow the over growth on Scott St to help hide the vehicle(s).
