Follow Me
If a car is parked on a bridge located inside this park, turn the ignition off, and wait for a few minutes, an old woman in a white dress will appear. She will wave her hand for you to follow her into the woods. No documented account has been made of anyone ever following her.

You know, in Tennessee there was a ghost that asked a woman to follow her, and when she did the ghost showed her an old safe full of money. Now the woman is rich.

I have spent a lot of time on Belle Isle, and have never seen anything like this personally. The people who saw the red eyed deer dont need to worry anymore because all the deer were removed from the island a few years ago. The bridge coming onto the island is definately a no parking zone, I would not sit in a car on that bridge unless you dont mind a big ticket and/or a crackhead slamming into you in the night. The red brick bridge somebody mentioned is off the nature trail loop, if you hike the loop, which isn’t that long, you will cross it. I have caught fish off of that bridge over the years but never a ghost. The story of the girl who jumped off the bridge is old because its happened a lot of times, both men and women have jumped, many of them. Some of them died and I am sure if you went back in the Free Press Archives you could probably find quite a few women who have died on that island wearing white. I dont know if there is anything to the haunting stories, but I have heard lots of them out on Belle Isle, from the casino being haunted to the bridge, in the woods. Everybody seems to feel that the place is haunted somewhere, but I have personally never seen it. If anybody has ever seen anything, or if I can help anyone with finding places on the island let me know shinaberryj@yahoo.com

It’s the belle isle bridge near Lake Tacoma. All you have to do is ask someone when you get down there, the bums know all about it and they’ll talk your head off. But if you’re stupid enough to park and get out of your car in the middle of Detroit, it shouldn’t be a ghost that you’re worried about. That’s all I have to say.

I went to that River Walk and I’ll be damned, I saw a flipping ghost. He was large, kind of in charge and he just kind of floated over our truck….I drive a Ford. I was eating ice cream and the fear that came over me was like a middle aged man splashing me with a garden hose on a warm summer day, god, I love middle aged men. Anyway about this ghost, I was scared, so scared that it very well could damage my entire human desire to ever eat ice cream again. I can’t even swim. I was about to slip on my dive gear and ask the ghoslty ghost to teach me to play the drums when before i knew, he zipped away. people don’t say “zipped away” a whole hell of alot in this day and age and longer you know? Correct me if I’m wrong, “zipped away” is a witty line used in the smash film “Dirty Dancing” with P. Swayze? Patrick Swayze for those that live in caves!!!!!!!! Anyway, go to this place with some ice cream and you’ll see Patrick Swayze zipping all over your Ford truck. Nobody puts Baby in a corner.

I have lived here for 28 years never have i heard this
even when I was younger I went out there with this guy to make out never saw nothing …no knocks nor nothing!! And believe me I can tell a ghost cause I have some in my home but they dont bother me and I dont bother them , except for this not quit heavy set
black gentleman that was standing in the middle of my bed that I had to tell him to move cause I couldn’t sleep or roll over. And he left thru the wall. you problaby think I am making this up but I am not … at 4 years old I saw my mother who had passed away that year folding clothes in the back room. I have seen many , as God is my witness I dont want to scare people but ghost only scare you if you are scared of them , dont bother them and they wont bother you . I have seen many, But I am not scared, it’s the living that I am scared of!

I don’t think any person in their right mind would be on Belle Isle after dark anyway. I think you have a better chance of being mugged and murdered than seeing a ghost.
