so i went aboard this ship the other day with my cousins. i´m walking around and i hear this voice from behind. it commanded me to ´take my dirty hands off the siderail´. at first i was spooked but it kept telling me the same thing and i was thinking, ok yeah, i´m gonna take my hands off this rail and i´m gonna fall overboard. i didn´t want my cousins to think i had gone off the deep end, so i didn´t talk back to the voice. but it sure pissed me off. as i was walking off the ship, i muttered ´my dirty hands, huh?´and i stuck one down my pants right quick and touched the handrail real strong like. no ship´s gonna tell me what to do.

About 5 years ago, my husband and i were on our honeymoon, and were departing from Mobile aboard the Carnival Cruise Ship "Holiday." We had gotten to Mobile a day early, simply to have time alone before beginning our cruise. We decided to tour the USS Alabama, neither of us had ever been aboard prior to this trip, nor had we heard the history of the deaths aboard the ship. The tour went fine, we took many pictures, however, did not see anything. When got into the lower sections of the ship, close to the jail section, and cook areas, we both started feeling nauseous and dizzy, like we had been breathing bad or uncirculated air. We discussed it, and kind of both surprised that we were both experiencing the same thing, and decided to go ahead and cut the tour early, given the headache we both to seem be developing. Once we were back on top of the ship, everything seemed fine, our dizziness and nausea were gone, just a slight lingering of a headache. Honestly, i did not think anything of our experience until i began reading about other peoples experiences, and now i know that what i have felt was not just stale air...

I do believe that the U.S.S. Alabama is haunted. In Sept. of 2007, my husband and I toured the ship. We got some creepy feelings in some areas as if someone were watching. I felt a strong feeling of a presence in the cooks galley, but no visual sighting.
I was completely enamoured by the hospital area..the pharmacy, the sick bay, the ENT office, and the operating room, because I am in the medical field. I took quite a few photos of these areas.Imagine my surprise when I was reviewing my photos 3 months later, and saw an apparition in the Operating Room photo.( This room is surrounded by bars and I took the photo between the bars.) I have not posted this photo on the internet, but I have shown it to 2 ghost hunting groups and one says yes they see something and one says no. Everyone at work that I've shown it to are completly blown away by the picture. I can see what is in the picture,so I feel I have all the proof needed to say that the USS Alabama is haunted.

I stayed aboard one night about 6 years ago with some members of my High School's ROTC unit. We had about 50 people with us and the ship to ourselves. About an hour after curfew I woke up 2 of my other buddies and we snuck off to go explore the ship late at night. Pretty soon after we were hopelessly lost and we constantly heard tapping noises that seemed to be closing in on us echoing from all around. The sounds kept getting closer and closer til we were basically in a full out panic, we started running and seemed to be furiously chased by something I cannot explain, but funny enough it chased us right back to the berthing area where it stopped quite suddenly. We slipped back into our bunks and never really talked about it ever again or told anyone because of the whole "gung ho" military air of ROTC. I'll never know what the hell that was or if we were just freaking each other out over nothing, but I truly experienced what I can only explain as pure terror on that ship. A feeling I never want again.

After touring the ship I felt eyes watching me as I walked through the ships hospital ward and the galley. I really expected to see the men sitting and eating and I heard the rattleing of the trays and pots etc. this was during 1995 visit I have not been back since. I felt people are not wanted there

OMG! I didn't know other people have seen apparitions on the ol' Lucky A! I was standing outside the cook's galley one day, as far as I am aware the only person on that deck at the time, when all of a sudden I start to hear the murmur of many voices and the sounds of dining utensils on metal trays, etc... I looked up and the galley was full of sailors chowing down and they are all in white t-shirts and have a look of just general misery. Before that it had never occurred to me that life aboard her was probably pretty miserable in the summer with the heat and humidity in the middle of the Pacific in the summer. The vision lasted about maybe two seconds and then it was gone. I was totally in shock. This was in 1990 when I was 28 and just out of the Marine Corps. I never spoke a word about it to a solitary soul.

I've been to the USS Alabama (folks live right near there) and I have to say I didn't experience anything totally weird but I did have a strange feeling throughout most of the trip. Just a feeling like "wow all the people that died where I am standing" its actually really amazing(:

I wish they would let a paranormal investigation group go and do an investigation. Im part of one myself and a place with that kind of history would be interesting to go to haunted or otherwise.
