Real Haunted Houses

Real Haunted House

USS Sullivans

Buffalo, New York

During World War Two, five brothers in the navy were stationed on the USS Juneau. When the ship sank, all five brothers perished to a water grave. Some time later, the Navy commissioned the USS Sullivans. The ship was mothballed and later brought to Buffalo, New York for permanent residence. It is said that George Sullivan roams about below the docks looking for his brothers who were trapped below the Juneau when it sank.

I am from Buffalo and this story has been around for awhile. Now the ship has been opened for many years as a museum and is said that all the brothers haunt the ship. I have heard that strange things go on, but I’ve never experienced anything myself.

I live in the newly renovated Buehl Block in downtown Buffalo. Several nights ago, around midnight, I was walking out of my room, when I saw an orange tabby cat walking in! SInce I knew the door was locked when I came home, and that I had locked it as soon as I had entered, I could not imagine where the cat came from. I closed the bedroom door behind me and tried to find the cat in the very small room – it was nowhere to be found.

Well, My husband used to work, painting the ships. He believes that the ship is haunted. He used to have to lock up at night. Next morning inner doors were open, he would hear door slamming and maybe that could be all exclaimed by the water or other explanations. Lights being on.

Part of the USS Sullivan myth involves the room in which pictures of all the Sullivans hang. It is said that if you try to take a picture of one of the pictures (I believe it is the one second to the right), the picture will no turn out. I tested this rumor and took the picture, the picture came out fine.

I live in Buffalo and know the history of the sullivans ship well. I go there every month or so . I can try to see if i can get pictures for you guys to see proof of the hauntings. The ship is indeedly haunted there is a shadiow of an engineer roamin the engine room as he fixes the ship and you can hear him drop his tools at times. The barracks where the slept you can hear foot steps and watch the beds move at times i ran screaming with my sister mom and my Ex we saw the bed that you first see when you enter sink in the impression of a back form inside like as if a man layed there. I want to film a video to see if it happens next time I go.

I worked at the Naval Park for several years and I have never seen or heard anything unusual. Over the years, I have probably walked those ships a thousand times and never once did anything paranormal happen. I had slept on the ship numerous times again without any strange occurances. The ships are creepy,Yes, but haunted, ABSOLUTELY NOT!!

Hi! I live by the Naval Marine Park in Buffalo and it is very creepy at night. Since I was last there last week I kept feeling chills every time we entered the Bow of the boat and the engine room. One of my elder relatives worked on the ship back in the late 1980′s and he had to contact few people every now and then because some of the doors were unlocked at midnight. It was scary the first night I slept over with my cousins boy scout troop a few months ago- It was very eerie, wait a second if the boat is haunted why is it in Lake ERIE? As Buffalo isn’t that creepie at night as it always is in Lockport. Also some locations for Historic Lockport tours are VERY PARANORMAL- The Washington House is haunted- HELP was written on the wall on the upstairs on the girls nursery – and the dolls eyes were following us- CREEPIE!
