My daughter used to dance and attended the Ballet School at Victoria theater. It was between classes she was on the stairs from the studio floor to the dressing area she hit a cold spot and felt something brush past her. Also she said she got the faint sent of roses.

Victoria Theater is definitely haunted. I used to spend time there with my friend because her grandma did something in the office there. The elevators are completely out of control and the rose smell is so strong at times that it smells like someone just sprayed perfume in your face. The place is creepy and I also think it would be awesome if someone did an investigation!

I've heard of the Victoria Theater being haunted. I've never been inside, but I've walked by it many times and every time, i feel like a eerie aurora is circling the theater.

The story of the Victoria Theatre being haunted is VERY true. I worked there on the janitorial staff in 1991 when I was a teenager. I honestly thought that my boss (who was also my neighbor) was trying to play a trick on me by telling me all of the ghost stories before I started there. Miss Vicky is one of many ghosts at the theatre, and does leave the smell of roses and lilacs along with giggling in the halls, footsteps in the basement dressing rooms, doors slamming, trash can lids spinning, and two instances (there may be even more by now) of full-body apparitions. In addition to Miss Vicky, there is a ghost in the top left balcony who was assaulted there while she was alive. After her death many years later, men began coming out of the balcony having been slapped, scratched, and otherwise physically assaulted. The door to the balony, on spring hinges, would stand open on it's own as well. There were also instances of the smell of burning wood in the basement and stairwells. I found out after experiencing this that before the theatre existed, there was once a horse stable there that had burnt down. Elevators in the theatre take on a life of their own, moving from floor to floor, doors opening and closing at all hours. This is the first, and still perhaps the most haunted location that I have encountered yet to date. The building next door to the theatre that has The Loft and DC/DC also has a presence there that is extrememly nasty, inlike the ones within the theatre itself. It has been known to growl, show itself as a towering mist to janitorial employees, and make you feel ready to run anytime it is around. The ghosts of the Victoria tend to be most active during remodeling, at night when all but janitorial staff is gone, and just before a production is about to start. An investigation of the theatre would be a dream come true, but unfortunately the theatre tends to want to keep a lid on things.

I know this story of Victoria Theatre to be true! We had taken 4 bus loads of elementary kids up there years ago. I had never heard of this place before that day, nor had heard anything of it's supposedly being haunted. We 4 bus drivers sat in the very back with all the kids down in front. I kept smelling the odor of roses, the scent getting stronger & stronger, to the point of having the scent 'down in your throat' strong. But the thing was, out of the 4 of us, I was the only one that could smell that scent! None of the others could smell it, and it was becoming over powering to me. About a year or so later, I was reading Haunted Ohio, and the story about the Victoria Theatre! I quickly rushed the book to one of the other drivers that was there that day, and she did remember very vividly about me complaining about the over powering scent of roses there, and they couldn't smell anything!

I'm originally from Dayton and I have heard the story numerous times and didn't believe it until I actually went on a field trip to the Victoria Theatre. The guide took our class down to the dressing room where she was last seen. We all thought that it would smell kind of musty while we were down there and boy where we wrong! All of us got cold chills at once and we smelled the flowery scent of her Rose Perfume. There was enough proof there for me to start believing!

Great stories guys. We will have to contact the theater and do an investigation. We will let you know our results if we can get the staff to approve it.

I'm originally from Dayton, I've been to Victoria Theatre with my Granny more times than I can count. A girl in my senior Advertising class got an internship there right before school let out. Acoording to her the stories are true. She says that she's heard giggling when no one else is around, and that one particular dressing room, which has now been converted into storage space due to way too many weird happenings, always smells like flowers, no matter how many musty props and curtains are shoved in. She also claims that occasionally, late at night, the floor lights in the theatre proper come on unexpectedly, without any switches moving. Aparently that phenomena is followed by very faint singing in a soprano voice. She says no one has ever been hurt or even bothered by the spirit, aside from one particularly asinine and overbearing office manager that worked there very shortly after the Victoria was converted into a movie theatre for a short time. Apparently the manager had been poked at and prodded, slapped, and had things thrown at him when by himself. According to my friend, he ran out screaming after two months of employment and was never heard from again.

I've been to the Victoria Theatre A LOT of times. I never once seen, heard, or smelled anything. I`ve always heard it was haunted, but everytime I go, it doesn`t feel like it is. I`ve also heard of people being smacked in their dressing room when no one else was in there, but I`m not sure if that`s true.
