Real Haunted House

Waverly Hills Sanitorium for Tuberculosis

Louisville, Kentucky

(Also known as the Waverly Hills Sanitarium for Tuberculosis)

During the early twentieth century, Louisville had the highest tuberculosis rate in the country, so a hospital was opened. Many of the patients remained here until they died. The dead bodies were pushed down tunnels to the bottom of the hill where they were then carried off and buried. After the vaccine for tuberculosis was discovered, the hospital became a nursing home that is also now closed. Now, an elderly woman may be seen running from the building with bleeding wrists and ankles; she begs for someone to get her out of that place. Many have also seen people peeking out of third floor–the residential ward–windows.

First off I’ve been there, my friends dad’s best friend owned the property at one point…it is scary feeling but I’ve never had anything happen. So I think it’s all the state of mind you are in when you visit.
Second off…the room 502 thing, does anyone have ACTUAL proof something happened there? NOT something they found on the web? I think it way too ironic the area code is 502 and it just so happens to be room 502…

I looked it up on the internet and said that you can go on a ghost hunt for eight hours. Is that right?and i think 100 dollars a person and 100 people go at the same time.If this is true can someone let me know really want to go to this place.

Okay, the website is http://www.therealwaverlyhills.com just go there. They have all night tours that are around 100 dollars, but you have to have a certain number of people and go in a group. They also have half night tours that are like 50 dollars, but you also have to have a group for those. There are historical tours that cost 22 dollars and then historical/paranormal tours that also cost 22 dollars. They are both about 2 hours long.
They do have a stage Halloween tour. I visited sometime in June and they told us about it. They said that they have a radio station that comes up and helps out every year.
All these people leaving comments saying they have partied there or that their parents have owned it for 10 years and they only open on Halloween, are full of ****. Visit the website, read about the history, read about the owners, read about the tours. People are coming on the this site and making up stories and then leaving them as comments.
So, if you want real information, go to http://www.therealwaverlyhills.com

For anyone interested in it, there was a movie done based on the Sanitorium I believe it was called the Death Tunnel, interesting movie, the bar scenes were all filmed out of Phoenix Hill Tavern…. the actual Building was used as well, additionally Ghost hunters filmed a segment here a few years back you might Find it on the TAPS website enjoy….

actually, people often DID sneak into waverly hills. but this was back before they had security up there… it’s not to say some of these people aren’t making up these scenarios though.
i’ve personally never been to the sanitorium, just merely passed it one time, but i’d love to go eventually. if it weren’t for the waiting list to attend the place i would have gone a long time ago.
i’ve heard stories, and i’ve seen pictures. but i won’t fully believe the old hospital is haunted until i see it for myself.

Okay, You really need to do a little more research. 60,000 people did not die there, it has been proven that at the most it was 7,000 ( still a large number I know). Also, all of the rumors about the nurse suicide cannot be proven true or false. No doubt this hospital has a very dark past but by saying things that are either stretched truths or just blatant lies only disrespect the place, its history, and the victims.
