I have been to the Whaley mansion on a school field trip, i never really felt a pressence but it did feel creepy. You are aloud to go inside with a tour guide. My wife is from Flint.I heard about the Whaley house and asked if she knew where it was located. She did so we went there and looked it over.It was closed and as in the other comments it dose have tours of the old house.I did feel as though we were being watched as we looked the house over.We forgot our camera so I could not take any pictures.But I plan on revisiting this great land mark in August of this year. I will post any unusual pictures if any. I think ever one should visit this house at least once if not twice.

I go to school at Flint Central High School and my bus drives right passed that house and Central is just a couple blocks away from that house.

I’ve been in Whaley house, after hours for work. While there I experienced a number of incidents. Toys in the childrens room moved, curtains blew (the windows were shut it was early December)and I saw a shadow. I was there to write an article about the upcoming Christmas season for a now defunct Flint area paper. The volunteer with me was not the regular publicity person so perhaps she said more than she should have about it’s history, etc. She told me that numerous volunteers, etc. have all had things happen to them there, a common feeling is being unable to catch your breath or feeling overly warm. I don’t remember the name but I do know that the Whaley’s niece, I believe, died of TB in the house. Maybe it doesn’t act up when a lot of people are present but having been there and seen what I did I can assure you it is haunted.

I’ve been in the house a number of times on tours. (I attend college at UM Flint and it’s only across the road.) I know I, for one, have been all over that house and never seen anything the least bit odd. I’ve always been very comfortable on all my visits.
It’s very beautiful and there are lots of very cool antiques to look at and I’d recommend stopping by regardless.

I had my wedding there without any incident. The house is beautiful! In all my time growing up in Flint and going to school/university in Flint, I have never known anyone to have such an experience.

Whaley Historical House
Whaley House was the residence of the Robert J. and Mary McFarlan Whaley from 1885 to 1925. During Mr. Whaley’s presidency of Citizens Bank, he issued a $2,000 loan to the Flint Road Cart Company. This loan led to the creation of General Motors in Flint in 1908. Whaley House mission is to educate visitors about the legacy of the Whaley family, life in 19th century Flint, and historic preservation.
