Real Haunted Houses

Real Haunted House

The White Eagle Cafe

Portland, Oregon

This former brothel, hotel, and boarding house has many mysterious legends in its history. In one instance, it is alleged that a waitress was going to the basement and felt someone push her-twice. Falling down the stairs, she got the attention of the bartender and bouncer. When the two reached the bottom of the stairs, they discovered a mop and bucket had been thrown down after then. In another, one of the former owners reported hearing someone upstairs crying. When he went upstairs to see what was going on, the crying was so strong, the hairs on his back were raised. The man ran across the street and saw a glowing figure in the window from whence the crying came. No one has been near that room in thirteen years. Presently, there are reports of flushing toilets, whispering voices, moving furniture, and loose change with mint dates over forty years old.

TRUE…

This is an actual place, well known locally for being haunted. It has been featured on a few TV programs as such.

It is now a micro-brew pub with live bands nightly. Well worth visiting when you visit Portland, Oregon.

me and some friends spent the night and played with a ouija board and made some recordings and photos. We feel we caught a womens voice crying and some weird tapping noise that wasn’t there when we were recording and when we played it back it was. SCARY. I WANT TO GO BACK

Yea, I heard about this. My school is right up the street from this place. Everytime I walk past it to go to the Max Station, I would always get scared somehow. Damn, it’s hella scary!

I just stayed there recently on a Sunday night in room #1 with my girlfriend. No one else had rented a room that night so when the saloon closed and the staff left we were the only ones there. The bathroom door slammed shut as I was walking down the hall towards our room and when we were in bed the wood floor started creaking like someone was walking around the bed. The cause of either was unknown to me which I found thrilling – my girlfriend did not.

Hey ****,
If you’re a cop… you’re an idiot. What cop (real cop) would word things the way you do and have a screen name like **** E. Normous? You freakin poser! The closest you’ve probably been to being a cop is your mug shot. If by chance you realy are a cop… “NO WONDER PORTLAND HAS SO MANY FREAKIN PROBLEMS WITH THEIR CORRUPT, STORMTROOPER LIKE POLICE FORCE! Get a life.

I ate at that place twice once when i was 5 mnts preggers, I did not hear the place was haunted until some time later, but let me tell you that was the creepiest bathroom i’ve ever been in. I was most creeped out by the sink I know something was watcthing, and that door by the bathroom made me run big belly and all. The food was awesome though, well worth the scaries.

There was also a murder upstairs in one of the hotel rooms, it’s either the first or second room (rooms are all on the left hand side once you go up the stairs)…I stayed in the room one night, totally excited- and nothing freaky happened.
But yeah, the women’s bathroom in the restaurant? Creepy as hell. Never pissed so fast in my life.

Are you all smokin’ crack? I have been to the White Eagle two dozen times and have never been creeped out or seen anything unusual except a bunch of people drinking, eating and having fun.

Before the last owner, Chuck, sold the place he let us go up stairs. It was like walking into the turn of the centry–old wall paper falling off the walls, broken windows, old furniture…We took some pictures and when we got the film developed there were red streaks and balls off pink light in all the photos. The camera never worked again. A very freaky presence was there–no joking.
