Wiamea Lookout
Located at this lookout is an ancient burial ground. Around the grounds, there are many rocks that are not supposed to be taken. If one drives up the road to this lookout, he will count ten road bumps. Upon return, however, only seven will be counted.

All of you people are arguing over beliefs, no one has the right to tell anyone what to believe in. But it’s extremely immature to slam on someone else’s beliefs it’s inhumane. It’s also ignorant to make racial slurs you need to accept each other this is not ancient times now and these comments can be taken to heart and hurt someones feelings and that is why there is so much violence because of hatred and ignorance, no one is better than the next person. And it’s both sides arguing back and forth and what is it doing NOTHING just making each other mad. And if you don’t believe in any of this then why are you on the website.

it is true. i am originally from venezuela, but long before i was born my mother went on a trip to hawaii with my father when they were dating. my mom brought home about 3 rocks from dried lava near the volcanos. my mom hasn’t seen peace yet. my father cheated on her with 3 different women, almost committed suicide several times. its not superstition its just respect for those islands. if you cant respect them then bad luck will come to you.

Hi everyone! Well believe it or not I have heard a story like this before being that I once lived in Hawaii (Oahu) for many years. Yet the story I heard was 9 stairs and your not suppose to step on the 10th stair or you will not come back. However, the bumbs don’t suprise me either. These people don’t want to believe in Hawaii superstition and that is fine. Let them remain absent from the truth. Like the story of the Hotel that was trying to be built on accent Hawaiian bareal ground. I believe that everytime they started and got 1/2 done or almost done something happend to the Hotel. Yet I can’t remember what Island it was on. Once it was burnt down, then a hurricane blew it away and on and on. Also, if the stories about taking rocks or sea life from the Islands aren’t true then why do the parks and recreations department recieve 20 or more rocks, coral, shells and other stuff in the mail everyday with letters from tourists who are begging for them to put the items back where they took them because they want the bad luck to stop? Things that make you go hmmmm? Or are they just paranoide?

I personally have experienced what some might not believe in. This is just my opinion. I believe in my heart that there is “OTHERS” that which do exist. Of course non-believers seem to find a SCIENTIFIC explanation. I lived in Hawaii almost all my life and every time I moved into an apartment, something always happens. For example, the last place I lived was up Makaha Valley. At night, I would have to walk down this dirt road to get to the apartment buildings, I would hear someone calling my name but like a whisper. But theres no one there. Some may think that it was my imagination but I know different. Then it would even follow me into the house. I was taking a shower and I heard someone open the bathroom door but didn’t close it (need I remind you, our door makes big noise). I thought it was my husband but when I looked pass the shower curtain, no one was in there and the bathroom door was closed. Call it what you want but it really did happen. A few weeks after we moved to my grandma’s house, our neighbor upstairs hung himself. I believe that ground is cursed. Only our cell phones would act up there. When I was on the phone with my sister from California, her voice suddenly changed sounding like the demon from the Exorcist. Now that we moved from Hawaii, I no longer experience eerie things like that. And not once have our cell phones did that since either. What we live on in Hawaii is ancient ground which is our ancestor’s “playing ground” so to speak. Now as for the ghost stories and haunted places in Hawaii, I can’t say that I been there, done that because I never got the nerve to disturb the ancient. I been through enough to know better than to ask for what those curious enough do. And those from the mainland that gets a little curious, disturbs what belongs to our ancestors, pays the price one way or the other. Believe it or not. All I can say is live there, try what others tried, maybe you’ll be one of the lucky ones to experience what some don’t believe in. I’m not trying to convince anyone in believing Hawaii’s tales, just open your eyes. There is another world far beyond this one………

Hawaiian goddess “Pele” of the valcanoe spirit lives with in the valcanoe and she considers it her home so if u take a rock with u its like stealing. So if u take it u upset her and she will follow you untill she has what belongs to her. So think do u really want the Valcanoe Goddess To be on ur case?..I dont think so, this is A good reason to not take the lava rock. However growing up in Hawaii U always hear about the legends and ghost stories from books to your teachers to family memebers so i believe the ghost stories, I just dont ever want to experience it for myself I’m a big scardey cat…lol

to all of you that dont believe **** then your stupid kine. i live on the big island, and im a haole so i would no more True ghost stories then you can emagine. my school kealakehe is said to be the path way of the night marchers no one kid dares to stay at school passed 9 ockloock. at midnight they come with a vengence to all the haoles and some hawaiians they say that if you are but naked on the road then they can not see you. so if your stupid enought to go look for yoself then haole you better watch your back. its not no joke. one time i was on a feild trip to the hilo to some chorus thing and like we had to take this detour or sumthing and it was busy road and we were on a yello skool bus and there was a car in front of us and in back., well the detour took us to this bureal ground or sumthing and we go over this brige right. and friggen then we dont see no cars behind us right before our eyes. then we were like freaking out. and so we were sitting there and i see this girl outside screaming. she had no reason to. it was a spirit girl so we stoped and we were stuck there for tree hours. it was so freaky i was like AHH.
